The New Year gift Su Can prepared for Guan Sisi was a pink teddy bear. It wasn't expensive, but it suited her perfectly. Guan Sisi had been a sensible child for as long as she could remember, yet she had never received much affection from her family. She was sensible to the point of being like a little adult, but deep down, she was just a little girl who desperately needed companionship and care. One could tell from her usual attire; she wore very plain clothes, devoid of any flashy or fancy decorations. After much hesitation, Su Can had chosen the bear, hoping to make up for the princess dreams Guan Sisi had missed out on in her childhood—so she could be like other girls, owning a pile of her own stuffed toys and pretty little dresses. He didn't know what kind of clothes she liked, and it wouldn't have been appropriate for him to give her clothing anyway. A teddy bear, on the other hand, was a great choice. When she returned home and saw the teddy bear, Guan Sisi fell in love with the gift instantly. She wasn't lacking in expensive gifts; what she lacked was someone who cared about her.
