Even Wu Bixia, Deng Wenwei’s mother, merely lifted her head to glance at her youngest son. Seeing nothing unusual about him, she nodded and gave a brief instruction: "Be careful, and notify the family if anything happens." She had never truly known what her youngest son did out there. Over the past few years, plagued by her headaches, she had lacked the energy to manage him. He was a grown man now, and he seemed to have his own sense of propriety in his dealings; she didn't worry about him overly much.
