Chapter 7: Rift of Time
Li Qing stood before the familiar old house, his heart a turmoil of complex emotions. This was the doorway to his former home, the repository of memories from his childhood and adolescence. Yet, he was no longer that youthful self; he was an adult marked by Rebirth and a newly awakened soul.
He took a deep breath and pressed the doorbell. The door slowly opened, and he saw the figures of his parents. Their faces were etched with astonishment and joy; they could hardly believe that the person before them was their son—the son who had vanished ten years ago in an accident.
Watching their expressions, Li Qing felt a wave of emotion wash over him. He knew this was a moment he had once dreamed of, a moment he had desperately wished to live over again. Yet now, he felt a flicker of unease and hesitation.
He knew that returning to the past was not merely about making amends for past regrets, but about altering his own destiny. He wanted to reclaim what had been lost and correct the mistakes he had once made.
Stepping inside, Li Qing looked around at the familiar furniture and decor, his heart filled with sentiment. He had returned to a place that once brought him warmth and safety, a family that had once given him endless love and support.
His parents embraced him warmly, tears streaming down their cheeks. They asked him where he had been all these years and why he had suddenly appeared. Not knowing how to explain it all, Li Qing could only tell them that he had experienced some extraordinary events and had finally come back to them.
In the days that followed, Li Qing began striving to adapt to this world that was both familiar and strange. He returned to his former school, seeing his old teachers and classmates. Their reactions varied: some were surprised, some were overjoyed, and others were full of questions.
Li Qing tried his best to keep a low profile. He knew he could not casually tamper with the past, but he hoped to change the outcome of certain events through his own actions. He began paying attention to his former friends, especially a girl who had once meant a great deal to him.
He remembered that a misunderstanding between them had ultimately led to their breakup. Li Qing decided that this time, he would do everything in his power to salvage it. He sought the girl out, and they began interacting and reconnecting.
Communicating with her in a more mature and empathetic way, Li Qing shared his feelings and expressed his hopes for the future. Their relationship gradually improved, and Li Qing felt his chances steadily growing.
Yet Li Qing also knew that changing the past was no easy task. He began to realize that the Rift of Time was not so easily mended. It would require greater effort, sweat, and tears.
He poured himself into his studies and work, determined to reshape the outcomes of certain events through his own diligence. He was no longer afraid of failure, knowing that every setback was a valuable lesson.
In the days ahead, Li Qing's life grew more fulfilling and meaningful. He was no longer a man lost to himself; he had found his direction and his purpose.
Then, in an accidental moment, Li Qing discovered the Rift of Time. Within that rift, he caught a glimpse of his future self—the self he had always dreamed of becoming. He knew he had found the path of Rebirth and was marching toward that destination with unshakeable resolve.
Li Qing's story tells us that Rebirth does not necessarily mean the reversal of time and space, but rather the awakening and growth of the soul. When we can accept and cherish everything from our past, we can find new vitality in the present and stride toward a brighter future.
