The lake below Qingshan is shaped like a gourd. The smaller section is quite shallow, and in summer, the water is so clear you can see the bottom. The larger section is a deep, jade-green most of the time. Refracting the colorful scenery of Qingshan under the sunlight, the lake surface looks even more picturesque.
At the narrow neck where the "gourd" meets, a path and a pavilion have been built. Standing in the pavilion gives one the feeling of being right in the middle of the lake, surrounded by green mountains.
Only now it is winter. The mountain peaks are covered in white snow, there is occasional green at the base of the mountains, and the lake surface is capped with a thick layer of ice.
