Nan Yu remembered that in his previous life, Lazy Zhang had sold this ginseng for three thousand yuan, though he had forgotten exactly where the sale took place. That did not matter, however. Nan Yu knew of a long-standing pharmacy in their small county town. This shop had always been known for purchasing high-quality medicinal herbs, though in recent years, due to the tightening political climate, they had been less open about their acquisitions. As Nan Yu walked toward the pharmacy, he observed the various buildings and storefronts along the way. Ever since his rebirth, he had lived with a lingering sense of unreality. Now, as he walked the streets and gazed at these vintage structures, he felt as if he were wandering through one of the historic districts from his past life. With the real estate industry yet to boom, many old houses and buildings remained standing. He took his time, savoring the sights and trying to commit the current scenery to memory; once the developers arrived, such views would be gone forever.
