Jeolla Province is located in the southernmost part of Joseon. From here, there are two sea routes to reach Taiwan (Dongfan). The first is to head toward Japan and sail south along the Ryukyu Islands. The second is to head toward the Great Ming Dynasty and sail south along the coast.
