By the Hongwu reign of the Ming dynasty, Anlu County was elevated to a prefecture, with its seat established in Anlu.
The city wall of Anlu stood three zhang high and measured seven li in total circumference, featuring watchtowers, arrow towers, and corner towers built upon it. Outside ran a moat three zhang wide.
