"Could it be that everything is truly beyond recovery? Even a Corpse Brother can have an antidote and turn back into a human. But as for being a White Bone Spirit... can I even be considered human anymore?" Lin Xia thought to herself with bitter self-mockery. She stood blankly upon that desolate land, her eyes brimming with utter despair and helplessness. It was as if her eyes had been instantly submerged by a tide of sorrow. Her once-ruddy lips began to tremble violently, like a pair of leaves shivering in the biting winter wind, ready to be blown away at any moment. The corners of her mouth drooped downward; she seemed to have a thousand things she wanted to say, yet words were choked in her throat by a overwhelming grief. Her nostrils flared rapidly, and every breath felt like a desperate, agonizing tug at the anguish in her heart, much like a drowning person clutching at a final shred of life.
