Chapter 12

The first ray of morning light filtered through the bright glass window, landing on An Ruoxue's fair and pretty little face. The glaring sunlight made her eyes ache.
"Mmm... ugh."
Murmuring sleepily, An Ruoxue frowned and rolled over, searching for a comfortable spot out of the sunlight to continue sleeping.
"This woman."
Lying beside her, Rong Che fixed his dark eyes on the person before him. Her skin was as smooth and flawless as congealed fat, silky to the touch.
That description fit a woman like An Ruoxue to a tee.
How could any woman's skin feel so silky when touched? Under the covers, Rong Che's right hand was unable to stop itself from tracing the graceful curves of An Ruoxue's body.
His fingers seemed addicted, simply refusing to leave her skin.
"Mmm... ugh."
In her sleep, An Ruoxue let out a soft sound, her pretty brows knitting together as she mumbled, "Little Yellow, stop messing around."
As she spoke, An Ruoxue unconsciously waved her arm, trying to brush away the mischievous hand teasing her waist.
"Little Yellow... what on earth?"
Rong Che's narrow eyes tightened, a thin layer of frost covering his stern face.
Cough, cough, cough...
If the dignified Young Master Rong had known that the "Little Yellow" An Ruoxue was muttering about was actually a small yellow dog she kept, he probably would have been furious enough to strangle her.
"Ugh, Little Yellow, I told you not to mess around."
An Ruoxue desperately wanted a quiet, peaceful sleep, but the relentless disturbance on her body made it completely impossible for her to rest.
"Mmm... ugh."
Stretching lazily, An Ruoxue finally opened her sleep-heavy eyes. Her vision gradually cleared, and what came into view was an extraordinarily handsome face.
"Such a handsome Young Master Rong, I must be dreaming, heh."
An Ruoxue curved her lips, smiling foolishly at Rong Che beside her before closing her eyes again.
The fact that she could dream of Rong Che must mean she loved him far too much; she always thought of him during the day, which was why she kept thinking about him at night.
"An Ruoxue, open your eyes."
This woman actually thought she was dreaming just upon seeing him! He was lying right beside her in the flesh, yet she thought it was fake.
Damned woman, her intelligence must have been eaten by a dog to be this foolish.
"Oh, god, Rong Che's voice? Would a dream have a voice this real?"
An Ruoxue hastily opened her eyes. Sure enough, Rong Che's face was right there in front of her...
"Could I really not be dreaming?" An Ruoxue swallowed hard and timidly reached out a hand, gently pinching Rong Che's face.
"Wait, I can actually pinch it? This isn't a dream?"
An Ruoxue's mind went completely blank for a second, unable to tell whether she was in a dream or in reality.
"An Ruoxue, are you provoking me?"
The fact that this woman was looking at him with such doubtful eyes of disbelief made Rong Che extremely displeased.
"I'm not dreaming, you're real... Ah..."
When reality finally dawned on her, An Ruoxue's first reaction was to close her eyes and let out a shrill scream. Her high-pitched, ear-piercing shriek caused Rong Che to furrow his brow deeply, his expression darkening instantly.
"Shut up. You're not allowed to scream."
As the fierce and domineering command rang out, An Ruoxue obediently closed her mouth. "Y-you, why are you in my bed?"
"We..."
An Ruoxue instinctively pulled back the blanket covering her. "I'm finished." Beneath the covers, her body was completely bare without a single thread.
"We, we, we..."
An Ruoxue's mind was a complete blank. In her memory, there was not a trace of Rong Che yesterday; how on earth had he appeared here?
"I clearly remember drinking with Zhouzhou yesterday, so... why are you here? Where is Zhouzhou?"
An Ruoxue asked with a puzzled look on her face.
"Zhouzhou?"
Hearing An Ruoxue babbling another man's name, Rong Che's expression suddenly darkened, his cold eyes narrowing as an involuntary wave of icy chill radiated from his entire body.
"An Ruoxue, bringing up another man in front of me—do you want to die?"
Rong Che yanked An Ruoxue, still wrapped in the blanket, right up against him, his fierce, dark eyes glaring down at her. His icy gaze felt like a sharp dagger piercing straight into An Ruoxue's heart.
"Ugh... gulp." An Ruoxue swallowed nervously. She desperately wanted to get further away from Rong Che, but the man's arm was locked tightly around her waist, leaving her with zero chance of escape.
"I..."
An Ruoxue's cherry-red lips parted and closed for a long while without managing to spit out a complete sentence.
Damn it, what on earth happened last night? An Ruoxue's mind right now was like a blizzard had hit it—full of white noise, and she couldn't remember a single other thing.
"Y-you're hurting me. Can you let go of me first?"
Ugh... An Ruoxue frowned deeply. Damn it, her waist was about to be snapped in half by Rong Che. The murderous red gleam in the man's eyes made her feel genuinely terrified.
"An Ruoxue, if I ever catch you going to a bar to drink with men again, I'll finish you." Rong Che's arm tightened around An Ruoxue's waist.
He didn't even dare to imagine what would have happened last night if he hadn't run into her. If other men had seen this woman's alluring side...
"Damned woman." At the mere thought of other men having the chance to catch a glimpse of An Ruoxue's beauty, Rong Che felt a surge of extreme fury and displeasure.
"Who I drink with has nothing to do with you." An Ruoxue's lips twitched as she offered a weak, dissatisfied rebuttal in a tiny voice.
Wasn't he going to divorce her anyway? Who she went out drinking with had what kind of business with him?
"You can go look for mistresses and play around with women, so why can't I go out and drink?" An Ruoxue muttered with a trace of jealousy.
"Damned woman, how dare you talk back?"
"Rong Che, are you jealous because I drank with Zhouzhou?" An Ruoxue raised her eyes, her clear, transparent gaze meeting Rong Che's cold ones as she made a bold guess.
"Jealous? An Ruoxue, you think you're worthy of making me jealous?"
Damn it, Zhouzhou—how could this woman dare to call another man by such an intimate name? Rong Che's heart burned with displeasure as if caught in a fire.
"Or do you think that because I slept with you, I must like you?"
"I..."
An Ruoxue was struck dumb. Lowering her clear eyes slightly as she looked at Rong Che, she didn't know what else to say.
Rong Che's cold eyes narrowed. "You're nothing more than a plaything. Until I tell you to get lost, you'd better behave yourself. An Ruoxue, if you dare to run around messing things up while carrying the title of my wife, I will definitely make you regret it in the ugliest way possible."
Rong Che's fierce gaze carried a man-eating chill, causing An Ruoxue's frail body to tremble slightly.
A second ago, An Ruoxue had still been naive enough to think that Rong Che was jealous when he saw her drinking with Zhouzhou.
Heh... Or rather, she was just too naive, too foolish.
He had never cared about her, so how could he possibly be jealous? It was all just her being too foolish and naive.
