A burly man brought a bag of corn kernels in a plastic bag. He dumped them onto a table, where they rolled about—round, golden, and each one the size of a thumbnail. They looked like little gold beans. A group of old farmers frowned, murmuring in heated discussion: "A salesman came by yesterday wanting to rent our land to grow these seeds. It looked pretty good, but I never expected them to push it on the whole village!"
