[Other Half]: Honey, someone is bullying me. They said I don't have a girlfriend, when clearly I even have a wife. [Half Roast Duck]: There, there, tomorrow you'll get to finally meet your beloved wife.
Wang Peng couldn't hold his liquor well; after just a few drinks, his head slumped onto the table. The three of them helped Wang Peng back to the dorm. Dazed and stumbling, Wang Peng crawled into bed and slept all the way until four o'clock on Sunday afternoon. "Who is it? Sending WeChat messages nonstop so early in the morning." Groggily, Wang Peng looked at his phone. It was a WeChat message from Half Roast Duck.
[Half Roast Duck]: Are you here yet? I've already arrived at the library entrance, by the big tree in front.
Seeing the message from his online girlfriend instantly jolted Wang Peng wide awake.
[Other Half]: Heading downstairs, I'll be right there.
Wang Peng hurriedly got up, washed his face, brushed his teeth, and carefully styled his hair. He admired himself in the mirror for a moment, then happily left the dorm. Noticing the other three weren't around—well, he was off to pick up his girlfriend, but what were the other two up to? Wang Peng didn't have time to worry about that. He rushed out of the dorm and sprinted toward the library. As he got closer and closer to the library, Wang Peng's heart beat faster and faster. Underneath the tree, he saw a girl wearing a knit sweater with a white jacket on top, a white tulle skirt and white casual shoes on the bottom. Looking closer, her figure was slender. She was shifting her feet slowly, looking somewhat nervous. Her delicate, pale, and slender face carried a trace of a smile, along with a flush that didn't quite belong to this season. Wang Peng took out his phone and sent a WeChat message to Half Roast Duck, wanting to confirm if the girl in front of him was her, yet afraid it might not be real.
[Other Half]: I've arrived. Where are you? I'm wearing a black jacket. [Half Roast Duck]: I'm wearing all white today, very easy to spot.
Just as he sent the message, the girl picked up her phone and seemed to be typing. The moment she put her phone down, Wang Peng's phone rang. Wang Peng finally confirmed that the girl in front of him was indeed his online girlfriend. So, biting the bullet, he stepped forward to greet her. "Hello, are you waiting for someone here?" As soon as the words left his mouth, Wang Peng wanted to slap himself. *She's not waiting here for someone, she's waiting for you, right? Well, then again, who knows.*
The girl looked him up and down, then checked her phone. Only after confirming it was Wang Peng did she speak with some difficulty: "Do you know that making a girl wait this long is a very bad thing?" As she finished speaking, a blush crept up her cheeks. For a moment, Wang Peng had no idea how to respond. His teachers never taught them how to talk to girls in class! "Senior, hello, I'm Wang Peng, a freshman this year." Wang Peng gave a simple self-introduction to the senior. "Hello, Liu Yiyi." After Liu Yiyi spoke, a long silence followed. Wang Peng felt he still needed to say something. "Senior, what year are you in?" "Sophomore." "Oh." …… Wang Peng felt he couldn't go on like this. "Senior, what's your major? I'm in Financial Management." "Art and Design." …… "Senior, look at the library. This library is quite large, isn't it?" "Junior, how are you so good at killing a conversation? You weren't like this on your phone, calling me 'wife' every second word." "Senior, please don't tease me." "Let's go, Junior, I'll show you around the campus." ……
Rumble— The sky turned gloomy and light rain began to fall. Liu Yiyi frowned. The weather forecast hadn't said anything about rain today. "Senior, let's go into the library to hide from the rain." Liu Yiyi nodded and started walking toward the library. Being September, it wasn't particularly cold, but Liu Yiyi was still dressed a bit too lightly. Feeling a little chilled, she hugged her shoulders and hurried toward the library. Wang Peng's eyes lit up. "I know how to handle this! Douyin said that when a girl is cold, you should drape your jacket over her shoulders." Wang Peng took off his jacket and draped it over Liu Yiyi. "Senior, don't be afraid, I've got you covered for everything." "Is this considered a confession?"
