The fourth period was math class. The math teacher had taught Fu Ying for three years. She was a kind yet nagging Little Old Lady. She would beam like a flower at top-performing students and scold the mischievous ones, but she never treated students differently based on their grades, nor did she discriminate against those who lagged behind; every single student mattered to her.
The Little Old Lady taught straight from the textbook. She had everyone take out the second-semester book for the third year of middle school and began going through it concept by concept.
As she listened, Fu Ying's heart turned ice-cold: sines and cosines—good grief, she couldn't remember the formulas; quadratic equations—she remembered the academic terms, and that was about it; inverse proportional functions—she was completely clueless.
