Chapter 15

Wu Hao finished his introduction and walked back down, and the moment he sat down in his chair, quite a few parents started striking up conversations with him!
At this point, Xue Ming and Cheng Yingying had already arrived at the classroom entrance.
Seeing that they had arrived, Teacher Ge said to the parents in the audience, "Dear parents, our school has partnered with the City Guard Bureau to hold a safety presentation. In a moment, I will call all the students into the classroom, and I hope all parents and children can complete this safety class together!"
After a brief introduction, Teacher Ge walked over to the classroom entrance, called all the students who were playing outside back inside, coordinated briefly with Xue Ming, and then handed the class over to them.
Xue Ming and Cheng Yingying walked into the classroom, looked at the parents and students seated before them, and started with a self-introduction. Just as Xue Ming was about to use the multimedia classroom for his presentation, his eyes landed on Wu Hao, who was sitting in the middle.
Almost at the same time, Cheng Yingying spotted Wu Hao as well. Given the special circumstances, she couldn't say much right then, but the thought of being chewed out by her own brother earlier that day for being late still left her feeling rather annoyed!
"Daddy, Daddy, that older sister—we saw her today!"
Wu Hao hadn't paid much attention at first, but prompted by his son's words, he looked up and indeed saw Cheng Yingying!
"Dear parents, dear students, Officer Xue will now use a case from just a few days ago to conduct this safety presentation. Everyone, please look at the big screen!"
With that, Xue Ming projected the video from the other day showing the robber with a knife harming civilians onto the large multimedia screen.
Upon seeing this, the parents in the audience immediately began whispering amongst themselves.
"This incident occurred right here at our World Trade Mall. It was a sudden emergency. The day it happened, upon receiving the report, we rushed straight to the scene..."
Standing at the podium, Xue Ming recounted the entire event from start to finish!
After a short while, he asked, "So, students, if you encounter a situation like this in your future lives, how should you respond?"
"Run!"
The elementary school students answered in unison.
"Correct, good answer—you must run. Do not go rubbernecking; that is taking responsibility for your own lives!"
Just then, a parent suddenly raised their hand and said, "Officer Xue, my child and I were right at the scene that day. I remember there was a nameless hero who stepped forward to apprehend the criminal. We were all at the back of the crowd and didn't get to see what he looked like. May I ask, Officer Xue, has the City Guard Bureau found this nameless hero?"
"That's right! If it weren't for that nameless hero, goodness knows how many people would have been hurt that day!" another parent chimed in.
Xue Ming smiled and explained, "Actually, before coming to the school, we kept asking around to find out who this nameless hero was, and fortunately, we managed to get a general idea of his physical description!"
"Really? Well, what does this nameless hero look like?"
Instantly, the parents and students in the audience were filled with curiosity!
"Actually, this nameless hero is the parent of one of the students right here in our class!"
Looking at Wu Hao, Xue Ming immediately reached out and made a gesture of invitation. "Mr. Wu, please don't stay in the audience. Come on up and tell everyone what made you disregard the danger and step forward to confront the culprit that day!"
As soon as Xue Ming finished speaking, many of the students and parents turned their gazes toward Wu Hao.
In an instant, everyone was stunned.
Nobody expected that the person everyone was looking for would turn out to be Wu Hao!
Up at the podium, Cheng Yingying wore a look of sheer astonishment and immediately whispered to Xue Ming, "Did you get it wrong?!"
Xue Ming replied calmly, "I didn't get it wrong. Someone recorded a video at the scene, and Mr. Wu happened to be caught on camera!"
"This..."
Cheng Yingying was left speechless!
Sitting in his son's seat, Wu Hao never imagined things could be such a coincidence!
But now, keeping a low profile was out of the question. With no other choice, he walked up to the podium.
Seeing his dad go up, Liu Chenghao beamed with pride and repeatedly told the classmates around him, "That's my dad!"
"Alright, let's give him a round of applause!"
With that, Xue Ming stepped down from the podium.
Wu Hao walked up and briefly explained that because the situation was critical and he had the capability, he had stepped in to stop the culprit.
As soon as he finished, a parent suddenly raised a hand and asked, "Chenghao's dad, weren't you scared at the time?"
"Not at all. It was just a petty criminal, after all!"
A petty criminal?
Hearing this, everyone couldn't help gasping.
That was a culprit wielding a fruit knife! For an ordinary person, who would dare step up to stop him? One wrong move and it could cost a life!
And yet, in his eyes, he dismissed him as just a petty criminal!
In that moment, everyone looked at Wu Hao with newfound respect!
Another half hour passed, and the safety presentation class finally came to an end!
After Teacher Ge gave a few brief concluding instructions, the parents gradually left the classroom!
"Haohao, Daddy will pick you up after school this afternoon. Pay attention in class, understand?"
"Understood, Daddy!"
Wu Hao stood up, waved goodbye to his son, and left the classroom as well.
The moment he stepped out the door, he was surrounded by a circle of parents!
"Mr. Wu, I'm with Jianye Real Estate, my last name is Lu. Here is my card—please take it. If you ever need any help in the future, don't hesitate to call!"
"Mr. Wu, I'm with Red & Blue Co., Ltd., my last name is Zhang. You—you can just call me Xiao Zhang. Here is my business card!"
"Mr. Wu, here is my card!"
In a flash, all the parents pulled out their business cards and handed them to Wu Hao.
After all, these parents were all business owners. No matter the size of their business, being able to befriend someone like Wu Hao—who could casually pull out five million to help his wife restart her business and wasn't afraid of danger when stepping up to stop a knife-wielding criminal on the street—was nothing short of a blessing from the heavens.
Wu Hao found it hard to refuse. After quite a while, he finally managed to squeeze his way out of the crowd, only to have Xue Ming run up to him the moment he reached the school entrance.
"Mr. Wu!"
Wu Hao sighed helplessly, "Officer Xue, that matter was really nothing to me. There's really no need for you guys to go public with it!"
Xue Ming smiled. "Yes, you're right, Mr. Wu, but I think it's a great thing! Your bravery in stepping forward to stop the criminal without fearing danger that day—that is so courageous!"
"Fine, fine, I get it, I get it. Do you need anything else?"
"Well, it's like this: our captain has been wanting to find you and thank you in person. Let me know when you have some time, and I'll have our captain come see you!"
Wu Hao waved a hand dismissively. "No need, no need. Like I said, it was just a small matter!"
With that, Wu Hao looked up and saw Cheng Yingying's car parked by the roadside. Subconsciously, he asked Xue Ming, "Who is that?"
"Ah, her? She's a new recruit who just reported to our City Guard Bureau today. Because she was late, the captain made her come with me to the school for the safety presentation."
"Oh, is that so?"
Wu Hao nodded. "Alright, nothing else then? I'm heading out!"
With that, Wu Hao walked over to the car, leaned toward the driver's seat, and told Cheng Yingying, "Next time, you really must wear a helmet when riding, you hear me?"
"You..."
Cheng Yingying wanted to retort, but before she could finish, Wu Hao had already walked away.
