Chapter 121

1,702 words9 minutes read

In the original novel, taking advantage of Taiwu and Yipin reinforcing the seal, Jiang Shili wreaked havoc in the ruins of the Demon-Suppression Tower and nearly opened the passage to the Demon Realm. He was eventually repelled when Xie Cangxing sacrificed his mortal body. Yipin, Li Xiaoyao, the 27th sect leader of the Shushan Sect, blamed himself for failing to respond to the Jingtian Sect's rebellion in a timely manner and resigned to take responsibility. Taiwu then succeeded him as sect leader. Later, the Shushan Sect established the Seven Palaces and appointed the Seven Sages—Taiwu, Yipin, Qingshi, Yushu, Caogu, Tiebi, and Lingyin—to guard these palaces and reinforce the seal between the two realms at the Well of Gods and Demons. Among the Seven Sages, Tiebi and Lingyin were originally from the junior generation of Taiwu and Yipin, but because the status of the Shushan Seven Sages was extraordinarily lofty, they all addressed each other as martial brothers and sisters.
