Chapter 15

[Demon Wings: A pair of demonic wings coalesced from darkness. They can defend against certain attacks, condense dark energy for offensive strikes, control consumption and corrosion, and grant the ability to fly. (Can be fused with Angel Wings to become Angel and Demon Wings: one pair white, one pair black, totaling four wings, capable of utilizing both the power of darkness and light simultaneously. Crowley’s appraisal: Kid, you’d best use them together.)]
The power of consumption and corrosion radiated a dangerous scent. The dark energy coalesced into a form identical in shape and size to the Angel Wings, only black in color. Yun Hexian summoned the Angel and Demon Wings. With the black pair below and the white pair above, the multicolored wings appeared both holy and wicked. Facing the mirror, Yun Hexian fell into a brief silence. An immortal crane is black and white, so having two pairs of wings—one black, one white—is also... logical, right? Yun Hexian thought, feeling unsure.
Sitting behind the register, Yun Hexian pondered. In truth, Crowley was right: he really did know who they were, and he knew they knew that he knew. He hadn’t recognized them at first because the identities of the two protagonists in *Good Omens*, Aziraphale and Crowley, differed from the long list of descriptions in the system’s brief. But once he saw them in person, how could he fail to recognize them?
In *Good Omens*, Aziraphale and Crowley were angels who had existed since the dawn of God’s Genesis. Later, Crowley struck a deal with Satan and became a fallen angel, a demon. The "one who borrows the authority of Satan and does not return it"—this likely referred to Crowley replacing Satan, becoming the demon who transformed into a snake (his true form) in the Garden of Eden to tempt Eve into eating the forbidden fruit. Therefore, he likely possessed some of Satan’s power. He wondered if he could give it to him. The meaning behind "fallen angel" and "demon who existed since the dawn of Genesis" was obvious. "The most heinous of demons" likely described Crowley’s assignment on earth: to tempt people into sin. As for Aziraphale, his archetype was the angel at the east gate of the Garden of Eden, one of the Seraphs, one of the seven angels before the throne, the angel of Mercury, and the ruling angel of the second day, Raphael. He was brothers with Michael and Gabriel. Therefore, Aziraphale should possess the abilities of Raphael. His mission on earth was to guide people toward goodness.
In *Good Omens*, Crowley led people toward evil, triggering sin and darkness in the world, while Aziraphale led people toward goodness, sparking the world’s greatest beauty and light. The work of an angel and a demon conflicted and canceled each other out. Eventually, they simply agreed to slack off; neither did any real work. If their superiors asked, they claimed the efforts neutralized one another, and they spent over a thousand years slacking off together. More importantly, they were a couple. Great Britain—the name is truly well-earned. However... Yun Hexian: I have an idea! He felt he could exploit this characteristic to boost their mood values. First, make people genuinely want to commit a crime to gain Crowley’s mood value; then, make them repent and turn over a new leaf to gain Aziraphale’s mood value. The perfect solution!
*Ding-a-ling~* The bookstore door opened, and a man whose face was hard to discern but who clearly sported three pairs of angel wings walked in. He was a three-winged angel. He held his head high and haughtily walked past Yun Hexian, his wings nearly striking him, which made Yun Hexian curl his lip. Show-off, show-off, what is he showing off for? Aziraphale is a six-winged angel, and he usually only shows one pair, doesn't he? The less you have, the more you show off. I even have a pair of Demon Wings; if I took those out, I’d scare you to death.
The three-winged angel silently took several books from the shelves and placed forty-five Angel Feathers on the counter for Yun Hexian. Only then did Yun Hexian see what his "wages," the Angel Feathers, actually were: [Angel Feather: Currency created by Aziraphale and taught to the angels. An energy construct in the shape of a feather, condensed from the holy power and divine might of an angel. It suppresses darkness, shatters illusions, and can even bring the dead back to life (within fifteen minutes of death), or turn an ordinary human into a one-winged angel. (One-winged angel: An ordinary angel (Lamp Realm Peak) with only one pair of wings. Their physical fitness is several times that of an ordinary human, and they can use the power of holy light to purify evil or heal wounds. The highest promotion is to a two-winged angel (Pool Realm Peak), capable of using sacred flames, combining holy light to form holy fire, and summoning a personal weapon from the Divine Kingdom (sword, bow and arrow, spear, or shield). After such an angel dies, they are resurrected in the Divine Kingdom of the ruling angel of the second day.As there is no ruling angel in this world, they may enter the Divine ruin of the ruling angel's agent.)]
Great stuff, truly great stuff—bringing the dead back to life, my goodness. He lives up to the name of Raphael, the healing angel. Yun Hexian checked the unit price of the books on the computer; it was exactly forty-five. He couldn't help but gasp, "Wait, you angels from England don't tip? Where did your national customs go?" The three-winged angel remained silent. Quietly, and with great effort, he condensed a new Angel Feather and handed it to Yun Hexian, then retracted his two pairs of wings and flew away weakly.
[Congratulations to the host for obtaining a forced tip: one Angel Feather.] [Congratulations to the host for an unexpected harvest: Angel’s Tear *3.] [Angel’s Tear: A forced breakthrough. For creatures below the Sea Realm (excluding the Sea Realm), when their cultivation reaches a critical point but they cannot break through, consuming this allows for a smooth breakthrough; however, their cultivation will be unable to progress further afterward.]
Yun Hexian: ... I’m sorry, although I truly regret forcing you for that Angel Feather, could you come back and cry a little more? I’ll even give the Angel Feather back to you. Clearly, that three-winged angel was not coming back.
*The Angel’s Bookstore* was very popular. Every ten minutes, a customer would walk in and leave a pile of Angel Feathers. This time, Yun Hexian didn't ask for tips. Through observation, Yun Hexian discovered that everyone coming to buy books was a three-winged angel or higher. Why? He got his answer after finding a three-winged angel who was easy to talk to: "It’s only natural that angels below three wings don't have divine might and can't condense these, isn't it? One-winged angels are just ordinary humans with noble souls who came to heaven after death and were transformed. Two-winged is the limit for such humans' evolution." "Only three-winged angels are true angels born of the Divine Kingdom; they possess divine might and the ability to transform ordinary humans into angels." "Which household do you belong to? Did you not study the history of the Divine Kingdom and the records of God’s grace diligently every day? Come to my office tomorrow." Yun Hexian: ... I’m sweating buckets, brother. That opening sounded so much like a dean of students. What kind of angels are you people!
Having worked diligently and conscientiously all night, Master Yun exited the Game Space and heard the "ring-a-ling" of his phone alarm. After turning it off, he saw an important notification on his screen: August 4th. This meant that Yun Hexian would not fulfill his full attendance quota for the month, wouldn't get the attendance bonus, and he wasn't even sure if he’d get all three parts of his salary. Yun Hexian: No, why?! ["Don't worry, little one. Your total working hours for the first three days add up to 18 hours. You can make them up in the time remaining, and I’ll still count you for full attendance."] Aziraphale’s smiling voice echoed in Yun Hexian’s mind. Yun Hexian was so moved he nearly wept. "Wuwu, Mr. Angel, you are my father—" ["Hey! Kid, don't go throwing names around!"] the demon Crowley said, annoyed. "The angel is my father, and you are my father too. We’re all one family, wuwu..." ["Ha, who would want that!"] [Crowley’s current mood value: 15%] Not the buddy, he’s that excited?! Of course, Yun Hexian knew Crowley wasn't excited about being a family with him, but about being a family with Aziraphale.
