On Monday night, everyone gathered once more in the Great Hall, for tonight was the night the champions of the Triwizard Tournament would be chosen.
Headmaster Dumbledore stood upon the podium. The flames within the Goblet of Fire shifted from blue to red, gradually shooting out a piece of parchment that floated down into Dumbledore's outstretched hand. Facing the assembly of students, he cleared his throat. "The champion for Durmstrang—Viktor Krum!"
Thunderous applause erupted from the Durmstrang students and Krum's numerous admirers; Krum's selection came as no surprise to anyone. As the names of the two other Durmstrang students were called out in succession—Adam Felix and Erich Cullen—a dark-skinned, gaunt male student and an unremarkable, unobtrusive girl joined Krum and walked into the chamber off the Great Hall.
