Many students chose to go home to spend the holidays with their families, and the professors were no exception. Almost no one chose to stay at Hogwarts. It was a rare, long-overdue Christmas Eve free from disturbance, Snape thought to himself, just as a knock sounded on his office door. "Severus, Hogsmeade is hosting a fireworks display tonight, so come keep me company and grab a drink!" a sweet young woman's voice called from outside, making Snape's expression turn even gloomier. Forget it, if he just ignored it, she would leave in a moment. The knocking stopped after just a few taps, and quiet returned to the hallway. Just let me stay by myself; the thought of crowded places filled with laughter and cheers was enough to drive him mad. Picking up his mug of black coffee, Snape went back to reviewing his research on improving the Wolfsbane Potion.
