Chapter 2

Hua Xi stepped forward and pinched Xing Beiluo's chin.
"Ha, pretending to be strong, woman. Do you have any idea how utterly wretched you look right now?"
No matter what happened to her, Xing Beiluo always put on an expression of utter indifference.
Yet they were the closest of sisters; of course Hua Xi knew that beneath Xing Beiluo's poker face lay profound despair and agony.
And Hua Xi's goal was to shatter that indifferent facade of hers.
Looking down from above, she said, "Do you know? I never once regarded you as my real sister. You were nothing more than a stepping stone that allowed me to survive and climb higher. You were the only fool who couldn't tell the difference, mistaking sweet-talk for genuine sincerity! Now that I've climbed to the top, of course I'm going to toss aside this eyesore of a stone~"
They had been closer than actual sisters, and Hua Xi knew precisely what Xing Beiluo cared about most.
Sometimes, a single sentence was all it took to kill.
Sure enough, Xing Beiluo felt as though she had been struck by lightning.
She stood frozen in place.
It seemed as though a century had passed before she finally snapped out of it.
She turned her head stiffly to look at Hua Xi:
"Why?"
She was determined to get an answer; she refused to believe that the person closest to her would betray her.
Why? Hua Xi fell silent for a moment, unable to answer her.
Xing Beiluo was extremely smart, and any flawless excuse would have its flaws exposed by her.
Without a word, Hua Xi circled around her.
Finally, she slowly walked up to Xing Beiluo, gently stroking Xing Beiluo's stunning face.
A flash of jealousy crossed her face as she said, "Sister, I suppose you didn't know? All those elderly people in your nursing home were taken by The Organization to be used for hxbd experiments—including Grandma Xing, the one who raised you through all those hardships."
She deliberately emphasized the last three words.
Because this was one of the only two people Xing Beiluo cared about.
Hearing this, Xing Beiluo's eyes widened in horror, and she finally couldn't help unleashing a torrent of furious abuse:
"You! You are utterly out of your minds! Don't you know how agonizing the hxbd experiments are? They are all elderly people, how could any of them survive?!"
Hua Xi admired her manicure with an air of total indifference: "I just casually brought it up, and when The Organization heard it, they said we shouldn't waste resources in vain, so they sent all of them in for experiments~"
!
Xing Beiluo finally erupted, throwing a vicious punch.
She no longer wanted answers;
right now, she only wanted to kill Hua Xi!
Xing Beiluo moved like lightning, instantly charging at Hua Xi.
At the same time, her right fist was tightly clenched, bringing a fierce rush of wind as she smashed it toward Hua Xi's face.
Hua Xi reacted with blinding speed, leaning back slightly to easily dodge the attack.
Immediately following that, Hua Xi swept her leg horizontally, aiming straight for the back of Xing Beiluo's knee.
Xing Beiluo stepped onto Hua Xi's stomach to vault upward, executing a mid-air spin and seizing the momentum to kick out again, her leg colliding with Hua Xi's in mid-air with a dull "thud."
The two tumbled together in a brawl; both were secret agents, and every strike they delivered was a lethal move.
Yet Xing Beiluo was forced back step after step.
"Bang!"
Once again, she was beaten to the ground by Hua Xi.
Hua Xi stepped forward, pinching her chin and mocking her mercilessly:
"Do you still think you're the same person you used to be? To tell you the truth, I have medicine in my system; talking to you just now was merely to buy time. Look at you now, ha~ what a piece of trash! It's effortless for me to kill you."
Glaring at Hua Xi's wrist and knowing she couldn't win in a fight, Xing Beiluo shifted her focus to snatching Aixiantian.
She was going to destroy this thing!
Even if she couldn't kill her opponent, she would make her pay a devastating price!
Xing Beiluo's hands blurred like illusions as she unleashed a flurry of punches.
Hua Xi nimbly dodged, launching counterattacks from time to time.
Who would have thought that Xing Beiluo was merely feinting?
She seized the opportunity to snatch Aixiantian and smashed it fiercely against the ground!
"Clang! Clang, clang, clang!"
Xing Beiluo watched as the exquisite bracelet hit the floor.
To her dismay, the bracelet did not shatter!
Seeing this,
she immediately lunged to grab the bracelet back, but Hua Xi was faster!
With a direct kick to Xing Beiluo's abdomen, she sent her hurtling backward three meters. Xing Beiluo crashed heavily against a sofa not far away.
Fortunately, the sofa cushioned the impact.
Even so, Xing Beiluo coughed up a mouthful of blood.
She casually wiped it away, her gaze icy, piercing Hua Xi like a blade in the dead of winter.
The other woman eagerly picked up the bracelet from the floor, and after inspecting it to ensure it was completely flawless, she let out a long breath of relief.
"Good, good, thank goodness you're fine, otherwise The Organization would have skinned me alive..."
That look on her face was exactly like how she used to look after every mission when she saw that Xing Beiluo was uninjured.
Xing Beiluo felt a sharp pang in her heart. In the past, no matter what happened, the other person's very first priority was always to check if she was hurt.
And now...
No matter how hard Xing Beiluo racked her brain, she could never have imagined that a sister of over twenty years would turn on her for the sake of an heir's position.
Human nature was truly chilling.
She had poured her heart and soul out to her, yet the other party felt she hadn't given enough.
Looking at Hua Xi, Xing Beiluo felt not a shred of sisterly affection left.
Her eyes held only intense hatred, and she swore an oath in her heart to avenge everyone at the nursing home,
and kill this vicious woman!
With every ounce of remaining strength, Xing Beiluo forced herself to her feet and lunged swiftly at Hua Xi!
Hua Xi sidestepped to evade Xing Beiluo's punch, then closed in rapidly, driving her elbow hard into Xing Beiluo's chest.
Xing Beiluo let out a muffled groan and staggered back a few steps, but she quickly steadied herself and charged forward once again.
Their battle grew increasingly fierce, the objects in the room sent flying in all directions by the force of their blows.
Xing Beiluo's eyes were filled with fury and resolve as she ceaselessly searched for openings in Hua Xi's defenses.
Hua Xi, meanwhile, appeared completely at ease, almost as if she were enjoying the fight.
Gradually, Xing Beiluo realized that she couldn't kill Hua Xi.
Catching sight of the tightly shut window, a thought flashed through her mind: if she destroyed this treasure and Hua Xi failed her mission, The Organization would punish her as well—she might as well let her reap what she sowed.
Taking advantage of Hua Xi's momentary inattention, Xing Beiluo snatched the bracelet once again.
"Hua Xi, I may not be able to kill you today,
but if I survive, I will surely return to exact my revenge!"
Xing Beiluo grabbed an exquisite ceramic cup from nearby and hurled it straight at Hua Xi.
Seeing the hidden weapon hurtling toward her, Hua Xi confidentially tilted her head aside and easily dodged it, turning back with a mocking sneer.
"Is that really all you've got to hurt me?"
To her surprise, Xing Beiluo had simply been faking; taking advantage of Hua Xi's dodge, she clutched Aixiantian and crashed straight through the window.
This was the 67th floor! Hua Xi rushed frantically to the window to look down.
Just as she was about to cry for help, a sudden thought crossed her mind, and she quietly closed her mouth.
This time, Big Sister should succeed, right?
Hua Xi certainly didn't want to kill the woman she loved most all over again.
