Meanwhile, as Xing Beiluo leaped from the building, she could no longer sustain her consciousness and fainted.
Plummeting rapidly through the air, Xing Beiluo had no way of knowing that the bracelet tucked inside her clothes had turned crimson upon absorbing her blood,
nor did she know how it had managed to slip onto her right hand.
At the same time, it emitted a brilliant flash of light that enveloped Xing Beiluo and vanished into thin air.
……
Ten-odd minutes later, feeling that enough time had passed, Hua Xi began to put on a panicked act, running to the doorway to call for help.
Rushing over upon hearing the commotion, an emissary took one look at the chaotic room and harshly interrogated Hua Xi: "What on earth did you do?!"
Instantly transforming into a fragile and sorrowful young maiden, Hua Xi stammered with a grieving face: "I only wanted to persuade Sister, but... but Sister is so proud by nature. When she learned the truth, she couldn't accept it and jumped..."
Hearing this, the emissary slapped her hard across the face with a loud *crack!*
He wanted to unleash a torrent of abuse, but considering the urgency of the situation, he left her with a warning: "I'll settle accounts with you later!"
He then rushed off to coordinate the rescue efforts. The Lord of the State had great plans for Xing Beiluo!
Preoccupied with saving her, he naturally missed the flash of murderous intent that crossed Hua Xi's eyes.
Once everyone had left, the ruthless glint in Hua Xi's eyes only intensified:
"Wait for me, Sister. Once I deal with things here, I will come find you.
Not a single person who plotted against you will escape my wrath! Even The Organization, even..."
She closed her eyes in anguish, as though time itself had frozen.
Suddenly, Hua Xi jerked her hand up and slammed her palm fiercely against her own abdomen,
putting her absolute all into the strike.
"Puff!"
Hua Xi immediately spewed a mouthful of dark blood, staining the space before her red.
It was the exact same amount of blood she had shed when she previously injured Xing Beiluo.
Hua Xi muttered to herself: "Even... myself... I will never, ever... allow you to be harmed!"
Having traversed a millennium to reach this time, she would certainly not allow the tragedy of a thousand years ago to repeat itself.
"No matter what price must be paid, I need you to live!"
She refused to let her be treated as a mere plaything by her own biological father, stripped of all love, and forced to clean up the messes her father intentionally left behind, only to ultimately end up with her Spirit Soul shattered to pieces.
Yet,
could the wheel of fate be so easily altered by her hand?
Hua Xi felt deeply uncertain.
"My Lord, those people have been dealt with."
A figure in black appeared behind Hua Xi, residual anger still burning in his eyes.
"Those bastards actually dared to lay a hand on you, My Lord. You must remember, My Lord is..."
"Enough, Yi Huan. It was I who chose not to dodge."
Interrupting him, Hua Xi collapsed limply onto the sofa, her face a mask of desolation and pain:
"By now, she must hate me to the core, mustn't she?"
"My Lord, why not just tell her the truth? Why resort to this method..." and let things reach such a state.
"To unload your breakdown onto someone else is simply passing your troubles to an innocent person, only to ask them to do something they cannot possibly achieve. How could they? Therefore, some things needn't be shared—not because they lack importance, but because they are yours alone to bear."
Bitterness filled Hua Xi's heart. She knew Xing Beiluo too well; if she told her the truth, no matter how absurd it sounded, Xing Beiluo would undoubtedly believe her.
Yet precisely because she understood Xing Beiluo so thoroughly,
she knew all too well that even upon learning the truth, Xing Beiluo would still choose to tread the exact same path to ruin.
And what Hua Xi wanted was for Xing Beiluo to live.
Even if it meant living solely to kill Hua Xi herself, she had to survive!
Then, Yi Huan watched as his Lord—who had been drowning in agony just a second ago—instantly turned cold.
With a casual tone and a flash of eerie light in her eyes, she spoke:
"Alright, let's go. Next, it's time to meet the mastermind behind The Organization—my esteemed adoptive father."
