Things went somewhat smoother than expected. Deprived of the hybrid sea beasts' control, the remaining ordinary sea beasts began attacking one another. Their front line broke at a single point and, much like a row of dominoes, collapsed rapidly.
Without further support, the Zerg monsters scattered and fled. Because their hiding places had been wiped out in one fell swoop, they could only go into deep concealment and bide their time, waiting for the next opportunity.
Though the Merfolk suffered heavy casualties, the reinforcements allowed them to gradually reclaim the breached waters, little by little driving the sea beasts out of Merfolk territory.
