Night fell, and Xu Shang and his companions found a suitable campsite beside a tranquil stream. The stream shimmered with silver under the moonlight, its babbling waters adding a harmonious melody to the quiet of the night. Xu Shang and his companions began setting up camp. They chose a flat, dry piece of ground surrounded by several large trees that offered shelter. Ling Zhuer carefully rolled out soft felt mats to provide warmth for the night's rest. Tianzi took charge of gathering dry branches and fallen leaves to prepare for the campfire. Xu Shang patrolled the perimeter along the stream to ensure there were no hidden dangers. His gaze was sharp, piercing every shadow, and his ears keenly caught every subtle sound of the night. Before long, a campfire blazed in the center of the camp, its flames casting a warm glow on the faces of the three and throwing dancing shadows. Ling Zhuer washed some wild fruits and vegetables with stream water, while Tianzi took some dried meat from his pack. They cooked these ingredients simply, making a modest yet satisfying meal.
