Chapter 12

Time flies. In order to resurrect Kaguya and track down Black Zetsu, Xiaotian chose to return to Earth to search for any traces of Little Black.
During this period, Xiaotian did not search aimlessly, as he needed to acquire all kinds of knowledge to see if he could find a way to store power.
As for Hagoromo, he got married and had two children, named Indra and Ashura respectively.
Xiaotian once asked Hagoromo about their surname, wondering what had happened to the Tang surname. Hagoromo replied, "Tang Indra and Tang Ashura, of course."
Hearing such a depressing answer, Xiaotian could only tell Hagoromo, "Whatever makes you happy."
As for Hamura, he was much more disciplined. He had a child named Tang Rui, who was currently stationed on the moon to guard it.
Hagoromo, meanwhile, had founded a religion called the Ninjutsu Sect, preaching love, peace, and the original history and knowledge of the Tang State.
One day, Xiaotian came to Hagoromo's territory and saw a group of children ahead. He smiled and called out, "Indra, Ashura."
The two little ones turned their heads at the sound of their names and saw Xiaotian's affectionate face. They shouted in unison, "Grandpa..."
Seeing the little ones run toward him, Xiaotian immediately squatted down, hugged them, and asked, "Well, did you miss Grandpa?"
"Yes," Indra said, and Ashura chimed in, "Grandpa, we want to eat the food you cook."
Xiaotian patted both of their heads and said, "Alright, alright. Now that Grandpa is here, I'll naturally cook for you. Where is Hagoromo?"
"Father."
Hagoromo walked over from a distance. Xiaotian stood up, took the children's hands, and said, "I'm back. This time I plan to stay for a while and properly teach my grandsons."
"Really?"
Hagoromo felt a surge of joy in his heart, hoping that the power of family affection could help Xiaotian recover somewhat.
Xiaotian had come here precisely to prevent Hagoromo from leading his grandsons astray. In the original history, Indra had been led astray, turning into a fool who only knew how to pursue power and authority.
As a time traveler, how could Xiaotian possibly pursue power? If it weren't for his father the Lord Ruler, he wouldn't even have become the Lord Ruler in the first place.
"Indeed, and you've already led Indra astray. Now he always pursues power and has even forgotten our family's ancestral teachings."
After Xiaotian finished speaking, Hagoromo looked awkward and asked, "Father, does our Tang Clan even have ancestral teachings?"
"Of course we do!"
Xiaotian glared at him and said, "Anyone who pursues power for the sake of authority is an absolute fool."
Hagoromo had no way to talk back, because Xiaotian was his father, and he had to listen.
Xiaotian squatted down again, stroked the two little ones' heads, and said, "Only those who pursue power for the sake of protection—that is what our Tang Clan should do. Do you understand?"
"Yes."
The two little ones nodded, carving those words into their hearts.
Xiaotian stood up and said, "Anyway, leave the children's education to me. Besides, you're far too foolish—is this how I used to teach you?"
Hagoromo gave a bitter smile. "Father, you were in a coma for eighteen years."
Xiaotian retorted, "Didn't I leave books for you? How did you forget everything? I give up, you take after neither me nor your mother. I'm leaving."
Xiaotian left with the children. Hagoromo shook his head helplessly and thought to himself, "Forget it, I might as well tag along and learn too."
And so, Xiaotian's classes began. Not only did he teach his grandsons, but he also taught the children of the Ninjutsu Sect.
Several months passed, and everything went smoothly.
One day, Indra suddenly sought out Xiaotian. The little boy ran up to him and said, "Grandpa, I discovered something. I just need to do this, and I can use flames."
Indra performed hand seals with both hands, and flames instantly appeared in his palms.
Xiaotian's eyes widened in shock as he thought to himself, *No way, Indra actually used ninjutsu.*
Indra looked up at Xiaotian and asked, "Grandpa, am I amazing?"
Xiaotian smiled and replied, "Yes, Indra is amazing, even stronger than Grandpa. But you must remember, your power must never be used to pursue authority, because that is a low-level thing. Hmm... Let's do this. Go call Ashura over; I'm going to teach you both."
Xiaotian decided to give a lesson from an elder to the younger generation, because he needed to set Indra on the right path.
Indra nodded and immediately went off to find his younger brother.
Soon, inside the room, Indra and Ashura sat down properly. Xiaotian came to stand before them and said, "Actually, what I want to talk about today are some life lessons. You must listen carefully."
"Yes." (X2)
The two of them were very well-behaved, and Xiaotian was quite satisfied. "Good. As you both know, Grandpa used to be the Emperor of the Tang State and even unified the world. But because of a catastrophe, the Tang State was destroyed, so I once held immense power."
"Wow!"
The little ones' eyes sparkled with stars, as they had never heard these histories before.
Xiaotian smiled slightly and said, "But power also comes with suffering. I couldn't help being emperor; if I truly had a choice, I wouldn't have chosen to be emperor at all—I would have chosen something else."
Indra raised his hand. "Grandpa, why wouldn't you want to be emperor?"
Xiaotian sat down on the ground and said, "Because as I said, power also brings suffering. Imagine this: if you have power, can you just do whatever you want?"
The two little ones thought about it for a long time, but couldn't come up with an answer.
Xiaotian smiled and said, "The answer is no. If you want to do whatever you want, your power will be overthrown by others, and that will only bring about a fatal disaster. When I gained power, I used it to benefit the common people."
"Only by using power this way will your power grow greater and greater, and the people will even love you. When that time comes, even if someone wants to strip you of your power, it will be useless, because the hearts of the people belong to you, not to the mere word 'power'."
After Xiaotian finished speaking, Indra seemed to understand something. Seeing this, Xiaotian decided to pile on a bit more.
"But power still brings suffering, and what I want to talk about next is that very suffering. Just as I said, you must use your power properly, or you will be overthrown. But if you truly wish to wield power, you will face the following situations."
"First, you need to think about how to benefit the people. Giving a man a fish is not as good as teaching him how to fish; you must enable the people to have the ability to support themselves."
"Second is being entangled in trivial matters. Just think about it: once you have power, don't you have to handle all those tedious affairs? Take your father, for example. After he founded the Ninjutsu Sect, didn't he have to resolve all kinds of problems? Just thinking about all that—how many brain cells must die? Overusing your brain can actually kill you."
"The last point, and the most important one, is the lack of freedom. Your grandfather here is a prime example. After becoming emperor, I had to stay in the imperial palace every single day, yet I wanted to see the vast world and travel everywhere. But I was bound by the imperial palace, and your father is the same. Do you think he can just leave this place whenever he wants? The answer is no."
After Xiaotian explained all of this, the little ones understood.
Being children, the two of them naturally loved to play. If they wouldn't be able to play in the future and would be tied down by responsibilities, that would be even more agonizing than death.
Indra and Ashura exchanged a glance and said in unison, "Brother (Younger Brother), the Ninjutsu Sect will be yours in the future."
As soon as they finished speaking, both froze.
Ashura quickly shook his head and said, "Brother, I can't do it. As the eldest son, you are the one with the ability to take over the Ninjutsu Sect, while I am still so foolish."
Indra retorted, "No, younger brother, don't underestimate yourself. I believe you will succeed."
Ashura was still unwilling. "How about this—let's compromise. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday you do it, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday I'll do it, and we rest on Sunday."
Hearing this, Indra cried out, "How can we do that? Besides, I want to become a great hero just like the stories Grandpa told, so I need to be out and about often, punishing evil and promoting good."
Ashura jumped up in anxiety. "Brother, you can't do that! I want to be a great hero too. Being a great hero is so wonderful—you can go wherever you want while punishing evil and promoting good. I've already decided, I'll be Hero Ashura in the future."
Seeing the two of them like this, Xiaotian burst into laughter. He had only told them the story of *The Legend of the Condor Heroes* back then, yet the two of them had already been captivated. It seemed he would have to pull out some novels for them in the future.
However, the two were on the verge of quarreling, and Xiaotian had to intervene.
Xiaotian pressed down on the little ones' shoulders and said, "Stop arguing for a moment. Actually, you both have a responsibility, because your father's Ninjutsu Sect needs someone to lead it. Therefore, between the two of you, someone will definitely have to succeed Hagoromo's position. But once you obtain this position, you will have the responsibility of leading the Ninjutsu Sect toward a better tomorrow."
At the mention of the Ninjutsu Sect, both little ones wore looks of utter disgust. Xiaotian stared at them earnestly and said, "That's why you must treat the Ninjutsu Sect well."
"Yes."
The two of them wore looks of utter despair, knowing they indeed had the responsibility of taking over the Ninjutsu Sect.
Xiaotian directly produced two books and said, "To help you learn characters quickly, I'm giving you two novels. These are the very same stories of *The Legend of the Condor Heroes* that I told you about."
Indra looked delighted. "Really? Are these the stories Grandpa told?"
Ashura was the same. "We can finally read books!"
Xiaotian handed the two books to the little ones and said, "If there are any characters you don't understand, come find me. Of course, I can also continue telling you stories while you sleep. Also, Indra, you are the older brother—if your younger brother doesn't understand something, you must teach him properly."
Indra nodded gently and said, "Yes, Grandpa. I will definitely help my younger brother."
With that, the little ones left. Xiaotian put his hands on his hips and muttered, "If I'd known, I would have recommended more novels like this. Hmm... Should I get some other novels as well? System, how many novels do you have?"
The system replied, "We have them. If the host wishes to purchase them, this system can offer you a discount. The more you buy, the bigger the discount."
Xiaotian snorted and said, "You're sounding a bit like a salesman now. Fine, then I'll redeem some. After all, I've stored up my Stamina Value for so long, it's time to spend it."
