Looking at the shattered remains scattered across the floor, tears gushed from Yao Yun'er's eyes. Yet, she could not utter a single sound. Every shelf in the room had been overturned, and not a single item remained intact. Song Mingjian finally came to a halt. He gasped for air, glanced at Yao Yun'er, who was collapsed on the floor, and reached out to drag a chair over to sit down. Being famished, his vision was swimming. He threw the full weight of his body onto the chair, but unexpectedly, his backside hit the floor instead. His waist became wedged in the frame, and as his leg struck his wound, he let out a cry of agony. The chair had been smashed by him moments earlier; its two legs were broken, though it hadn’t been apparent. The moment it bore his weight, it collapsed. Song Mingjian could not speak, but the hoarse, guttural shriek that tore from his throat conveyed his sheer torment. His original wound had never healed, and he had been forced to watch his posture whenever he walked. Having been in a fit of blind rage, he hadn't felt the pain, but now that he had relaxed and fallen, the impact to his wound triggered a wave of excruciating agony. Cold sweat poured down his face, and his features twisted in pain.
