Room 0106 was so tidy it hardly showed any signs of life. Shang Yu had his soul split in two—one part inside his body, the other out—which was far from ideal. Having the two halves of a soul separated for too long hindered recovery.
Qi Jingtao set up a soul-nourishing Formation inside the room, hid the jar containing the other half of Shang Yu’s soul under the bed, and finally concealed everything with a Barrier. With that done, he climbed to the top of the cruise ship and drew a Soul-Calling Array.
Most people on this ship had no experience with the arts of the Mystic Sect. In truth, there were many restless spirits drifting upon the sea, and with the vast ocean offering no obstacles, it was quite easy for them to find their way here. The only thing currently holding them back was the Barrier created by Sòng Huáiyì. To tear a hole in that barrier without alerting Sòng Huáiyì would require a tremendous amount of energy. However, Qi Jingtao’s Soul-Calling Array could penetrate the Barrier directly; the summoning would remain effective, though it would prevent the spirits from actually entering.
