Looking at the drool trickling from the corner of his mouth, Di Cangli rolled her alluring, misty fox-like eyes at Little Mofeng with infinite charm, and murmured softly, "You little heartbreaker."
"A-choo~"
"A-choo..."
Following Di Cangli's tender and alluring voice, the only response she received was Mofeng's snoring: "A-choo~", "A-choo~."
"Hoo~"
Looking at the impossibly adorable little baby nestled in her arms, Di Cangli took a deep breath to calm her racing heart, then carried Little Mofeng over to the edge of the Spirit Spring.
After all, her feverish body was covered in sweat, and she intended to have a proper bath.
Glancing at Little Mofeng, who was still fast asleep, Di Cangli gently placed him by the spring. Her garments slipped away, and she stepped into the Spirit Spring, soaking comfortably in the water.
As she bathed, Di Cangli rested her chin on her hands, smiling warmly as she watched Mofeng sleeping soundly on the bank, a trace of wistful longing in her eyes.
After watching for a while, Di Cangli turned around and gently raised her flawless, fair, slender, and straight legs, lifting them above the surface of the spring water.
Cupping the spirit water in her delicate hands, she splashed it over her legs and then gently stroked and washed them.
And so, one of them bathed in the Spirit Spring while the other slept soundly on the shore.
It was impossible to tell how much time had passed. Having finished bathing, Di Cangli swam through the Spirit Spring like a graceful fish, heading toward the opposite shore of the lake.
Meanwhile, Mofeng, who had been fast asleep on the bank, finally stirred from his slumber.
Upon waking, Mofeng felt that this was the sweetest, most satisfying sleep he had ever had.
"Huh?"
Awakening, Mofeng found himself lying on the ground. The breathtakingly beautiful woman who had just been holding him tightly in her arms—possessing curves that rivaled Mount Everest—had vanished.Though he didn't understand why she hadn't touched him or shown any malice toward him, he figured that someone who looked that stunning couldn't possibly be a bad person. After all, she hadn't done anything to him, let alone killed him. He certainly wasn't some shallow person who judged solely by looks.
Since she had already vanished and there was no way he could find her anyway, he simply decided not to dwell on things that gave him a headache.
"At least she had the sense to put yours truly right by the Spirit Spring. Not bad, not bad at all—truly a woman of magnificent proportions."
Staring at the Spirit Spring before him, Little Mofeng sprawled out over the surface of the pool, opened his tiny mouth, and began gulping it down in huge mouthfuls. Ah, delicious! Feeling the surge of spiritual energy steadily growing within his body as he drank from the Spirit Spring, Mofeng was in absolute bliss.
"Hmm?"
Hearing that strange, perplexed voice, Mofeng—mid-gulp—lifted his head and found himself staring right at Di Cangli, who was standing inside the Spirit Spring with a blank expression and eyes full of utter astonishment.
The two of them locked eyes once again. Time seemed to freeze and come to a complete standstill.
There, protruding slowly from the surface of the Spirit Spring, were Di Cangli's smooth, jade-like, flawless white feet, along with a modest length of her smooth and tender calves. Her hands were cupping the very same spring water he had been drinking and splashing it over them, her slender, snow-white fingers gently gliding across those exquisite feet.
Ordinarily, if Mofeng were to witness such a scene of a breathtaking beauty bathing, he would be so thrilled he wouldn't sleep for days. He would probably even look up at the heavens and cry out that justice had been served, and that the universe had finally treated him well. After all, throughout his entire life, Mofeng had always practiced virtue and done good deeds—surely he deserved to run into a sight like this!
Except right now, there was just one tiny problem: the Spirit Spring water he had been happily gulping down by the mouthful for days on end... seemed to be her bathwater?Damn it, who the hell treats a Spirit Spring like a hot spring for bathing?
Big sister, just how extravagant are you, using Spirit Spring water as bathwater? As this thought crossed his mind, the Spirit Spring water Little Mofeng had been drinking flowed right out of his slack-jawed, gaping mouth, matching his stunned and devastated expression.
The two stared at each other, eyes wide, and for a moment, the atmosphere turned inexplicably awkward.
The worst thing is when the air suddenly goes quiet. Di Cangli, who had been in a delightful mood earlier due to Mofeng’s arrival, was enjoying a leisurely swim in the Spirit Spring. When Mofeng woke up and began slurping the water from the edge of the lake, Di Cangli felt the commotion on the bank and noticed the Spirit Spring levels dropping rapidly.
Di Cangli swam quickly toward the shore. Seeing Little Mofeng with his little bottom stuck up in the air, wobbling happily as he lapped up the water, her eyes widened in disbelief, shock, and utter bewilderment.
This... this little guy is drinking my bathwater?
It looked like he hadn't drunk a small amount during his time in the Spirit Herb Garden.
This Spirit Spring was something she had personally transplanted into her herb garden to serve as her own private bath, a place for her to relax. But now, it seemed he had been drinking quite a lot of it. Moreover, looking at how excitedly and vigorously the little guy had been drinking earlier, he clearly loved it.
But... but the problem was, this was her bathwater! How could he be drinking her bathwater?
Just then, sensing some movement, Little Mofeng—who had been happily slurping away—looked up and locked eyes with Di Cangli’s stunned, bewildered gaze.
Seeing her body submerged in the very lake he had been drinking from every day, Mofeng froze, as if struck by a lightning bolt from the blue.
*I have been drinking her bathwater!!!*
As this thought took root in his mind, Mofeng’s chubby little body went rigid, his brain went blank, and he completely broke down. Throughout his life, he had always been the one playing tricks on others; he had never been the one outplayed, especially not like this.
He had spent his whole life catching geese, only to be blinded by a goose himself.
*I was drinking bathwater... bathwater... bathwater...*
A devastated Mofeng stood there, mouth hanging open, the Spirit Spring water he had been sipping trickling uselessly down the corner of his lips.
*Arghhhhh!*
He had spent his whole life catching geese, only to be blinded by a goose. He had always been the one pulling stunts on others—when had he ever been the victim of one?
While Mofeng was spiraling into an existential crisis, utterly shattered by the realization that the water he had been enjoying was actually Di Cangli’s bathwater, the woman herself—who had initially been stunned and shocked—began to come to her senses.
Watching Mofeng, who remained frozen like a statue on the bank, and dwelling on the fact that he had been drinking her bathwater, Di Cangli’s exquisite, beautiful face—as she soaked in the lake—began to flush a deep crimson. Her foxy, alluring eyes grew hazy, revealing a trace of intoxication.
To think... to think that this little guy, young as he was, was already so infatuated with her. They hadn't even known each other for long, and he was already so obsessed that he was secretly drinking her bathwater.
As expected, I truly am the greatest beauty in the world.
