The twenty-four Heavenly Buddha Lords were also observing the scene in the lotus pond. Some, however, wore smiles. Turning toward the Maitreya Buddha, they praised him, "Maitreya Buddha truly possesses inconceivable merit. This mantra that delivers the world from suffering is a supreme, peerless incantation."
