Marilia looked at Kate before her with a complex gaze. Though her heart was filled with pain, she still tried to persuade him to change his mind.
Taking a deep breath, she said to Kate in a firm tone, "Kate, for the sake of the mother-and-son bond between us, if you return to the right path, I can forgive your transgressions and spare your life. But if you persist in your obsession, I will have no choice but to uphold the interests of the people and eradicate you completely. Only in this way can we protect the vast populace from harm."
However, Kate sneered in response, "Hah, turn back? That is utterly impossible! I have already decided to walk my own path, and I will achieve my goal no matter the cost."
