This star, on the verge of exploding, had undergone a long and complex nuclear fusion process deep within its interior. As the nuclear fuel at the core gradually exhausted, the energy equilibrium that originally supported the star's structure was thoroughly shattered, and the stellar core began to collapse precipitously.
