During the school lunch break, Suchen noticed Lika walking straight past the bustling crowd toward the rooftop. Feeling curious, Suchen quietly followed her up.
Upon reaching the rooftop, Suchen was surprised to find Lika, the noble young lady, sitting quietly by herself, eating a simple bento.
Sunlight filtered through the clouds, casting mottled shadows across her silver hair and crimson eyes. Her aura was overwhelming yet awe-inspiring. Perhaps sensing someone approaching, Lika stopped what she was doing.
Lika directed her gaze toward the front of Suchen. Though she said nothing, her distinctive aura dominated the scene, silently conveying both appreciation and disdain for Suchen's appearance.
Lika closed her lunchbox, glanced coldly at Suchen, and said, "You fellow, why aren't you eating in the cafeteria? Why are you following this young lady?" She noticed Suchen's arrival, a flash of surprise crossing her face, but she quickly resumed her arrogant expression.
Suchen smiled faintly and said slowly, "I sense you have emotional defenses up." Hearing this, Lika wore a look of utter contempt. Staring straight into Suchen's face, she said, "Don't flatter yourself. What emotional defenses could this young lady possibly have?"
Suchen was unfazed by Lika's attitude. He continued, "You do. You definitely do." Hearing this, Lika raised an eyebrow, seeming somewhat amused, and retorted, "What evidence do you have for saying that?"
Suchen pointed to the seat beside Lika and said earnestly, "Because you're sitting here all by yourself." It was a completely harmless answer, yet it brought a scornful smile to Lika's face. She gave a light snort and said, "So what? This young lady simply doesn't want to crowd with others." With that, she opened her lunchbox and began to enjoy her lunch.
Suchen: "On this vast rooftop, there is only you and me." Lika curved the corners of her lips, a hint of mockery in her eyes: "What, could it be that you actually want to share lunch with this young lady?" Suchen: "That is precisely what I was going to say."
Lika narrowed her eyes, fixing Suchen with a sharp gaze: "Don't harbor such unrealistic fantasies. This young lady won't easily agree to dine with others."
Suchen: "Then what will it take for you to agree?" Lika lifted her chin slightly, a mocking smile playing at the corners of her lips: "That depends on what benefits you can bring me." Lika constantly radiated her characteristic arrogance, even toward someone who had kissed her before.
Suchen: "What kind of benefits do you want?" A flash of craftiness gleamed in Lika's eyes: "If you can bring me something interesting, perhaps I'll consider dining with you."
Suchen: "Something interesting?" He trailed off and began to think. Lika raised the corners of her mouth slightly, her gaze filled with anticipation: "Naturally, such as thrilling adventures, intriguing stories, or delicious food."
Suchen: "Then guess why I came looking for you?" Lika raised an eyebrow, wearing a dismissive smile: "Is that even a guess? It must be because this young lady's stunning beauty has set your heart racing."
Suchen: "Wrong. It's because I think you're pitiful." Lika froze, her eyes widening in disbelief at what she had just heard: "What?! You're calling me pitiful?!"
Suchen: "Yes, you are very pitiful." A flash of anger flared in Lika's eyes: "You fellow, how dare you call me pitiful?! Do you know who I am?"
Suchen said very calmly: "The pity I mean has nothing to do with your status." Lika knitted her brows, her eyes filled with confusion: "Then enlighten me, what do you mean?"
Suchen said leisurely: "It's the loneliness and solitude in your heart, isn't it?" Hearing these words, Lika's defenses seemed to crack, and a look of shock surfaced on her face: "Loneliness and solitude?! How did you know?"
Suchen: "Because I can feel it, and very clearly at that." Convinced and won over, Lika let out a deep sigh: "Sigh, I never took you for such a perceptive fellow. You're right, this young lady does frequently feel lonely and solitary, but so what?"
Suchen: "So, let me be the first." Lika wore a look of surprise before returning to her arrogant demeanor: "Let you be the first? What do you mean?"
Suchen: "To be the first person you open your heart to." Lika let out a cold snort, a flash of disdain in her eyes: "Hmph, who do you think you are? Why on earth should this young lady open her heart to you?"
Suchen: "That exact mindset is why no one has ever done that for you. Try changing your perspective." Lika was slightly taken aback, as if touched by Suchen's words: "Change my perspective?"
Suchen: "For you, opening your heart isn't a bad thing, is it?" Lika's defenses were completely shattered by Suchen's words. After a moment of silence, she said: "Perhaps you're right, but..." Suchen said firmly: "Stop doubting, just give it a try."
Lika's eyes were filled with hesitation and struggle: "However, I've never opened my heart to anyone else." Suchen: "Then try doing it with me."
Lika hesitated for a moment, then finally nodded in agreement: "Fine, then I'll give it a try." Feeling very happy, Suchen said: "I'm glad you're willing to trust me."
Lika took a deep breath, determination flashing in her eyes: "However, if you dare to trick me, bear the consequences!" Suchen: "Of course, I promise."
Lika looked at Suchen earnestly, her eyes filled with trust: "Good then." Suchen: "Come, let's eat together." Lika wore a faint smile, then sat down beside Suchen: "Since that's the case, I'll give you this chance."
Suchen picked up some food for her: "Here, eat more." Lika took the food he offered, a flicker of joy and gratitude in her eyes: "Thank you, then I won't stand on ceremony."
Suchen: "Mn, eat." Lika took a few bites of the food, then looked up at him: "Mn, it tastes pretty good." Suchen: "May I feed you?"
Lika froze, a blush spreading across her face: "Feed me?" Suchen: "Yes, feed you." He picked up a piece of meat and brought it to Lika's lips.
Lika hesitated for a moment before finally opening her mouth and eating the piece of meat: "Mm, delicious." Then Suchen fed her with his own mouth. Lika froze once more, a look of shyness and fluster flashing in her eyes. Suchen: "Is it good?"
Lika nodded, her eyes filled with happiness and contentment: "Mm, good." He gently stroked Lika's head. Lika lowered her head, her cheeks flushed with color: "Why are you petting my head?" Suchen said nothing and instead kissed her forehead.
Lika closed her eyes, feeling an unprecedented warmth and happiness. Suchen wrapped his arm around her waist, and she naturally leaned into his embrace, feeling a sense of security she had never known before.
Lika: "Even if the world collapses, I am not afraid, because I have you. You are my strength, my salvation. Thank... you."
