After stepping into the Golden Core Stage, Luosa had stagnated. No matter how he nourished his Golden Core, it refused to give birth to any spirituality. He felt depressed inside, but merely figured the time was not yet ripe, or perhaps the painstaking effort of nurturing was still not enough. Early the next morning, an exhausted Gulie woke up from unconsciousness. He felt his stomach growling with hunger so intense he could devour an entire ox. Before he could even figure out his surroundings, Luosa’s willow twig lashed down across his body. "Ouch!" Gulie let out a cry of pain, instantly casting his empty stomach to the back of his mind as he remembered how he had detonated his Golden Core and been dragged into the mountains by Luosa to suffer all sorts of torment.
