In fact, the entire Buddha body, including half of its neck, was completely embedded within the mountain. Having experienced visions of Buddha statues in illusory spaces many times before, Huiguang naturally understood that encountering such a scene must be another test to help him break through his current realm of cultivation. Stepping into empty air, Huiguang carefully inspected the Buddha head from all angles. Aside from discovering that the body was embedded in the rock, he also noticed that the Buddha’s eyes had no eyelids or slits.
