Hearing Laozi's words, the sages fell into deep thought. After all, Laozi was speaking the truth. Aside from Nuwa, the other five sages had established their own teachings to attain sagehood, and their foundations were all rooted in the Primordial World. While they themselves could remain detached and survive the upheaval of heaven and earth, their disciples could not. If they failed to patch the heavenly gate and allowed the Heavenly River to flood the Primordial World, how could they possibly continue preaching their Dao?
