Ruan Shiyu holed up at home, doing nothing but eating and drawing, drawing and eating. For three straight days, she finally finished drawing the ending of the manga. After making a few minor edits, she sent it to Jiuniangzi with a message: "I've finished the story. You can post this as the ending. I won't be taking any payment for these chapters. From now on, we have nothing more to do with each other. Goodbye."
When Jiuniangzi received Ruan Shiyu's ending, naturally, she saw no reason not to use it. She quickly instructed her staff to slot Ruan Shiyu's artwork in all at once so they could wrap things up early and be done with it.
Over at Ruan Shiyu's end, she did indeed breathe a sigh of relief. Actually, she had been quite terrified that after the contract termination, Jiuniangzi might refuse even the ending. Though it was a huge loss not to get paid, losing that bit of manuscript fee wasn't all that important to Ruan Shiyu. If Jiuniangzi had rejected her ending and left the story to fizzle out in such a shoddy, botched manner, that would have been the worst thing possible for her.
