Jiang Nanzhou looked at the system's control panel and activated the prestige store.
[Host name: Jiang Nanzhou
Prestige points: 522
Ocean prestige points: 2,780
Draw chances: 0
......]
Jiang Nanzhou opened the prestige store. The interface was identical to the ocean prestige points interface, with only a single item currently on sale.
Nutrient solution (for human use only; can rapidly restore physical strength, and long-term consumption can improve bodily functions and prolong life)
Jiang Nanzhou felt that this nutrient solution was a truly wonderful item. It could also refresh the mind when he was tired, and most importantly, he could sneak it into the family's water storage tank so that everyone at home could benefit from it.
The only problem was that this thing was absurdly expensive, costing even more than that frustrating ocean nutrient solution. This one actually required prestige points.
Jiang Nanzhou exited the system interface directly.
Seeing that it was almost time, Jiang Nanzhou told Jiang's father and Mother Jiang that he was heading out. He planned to go over to Second Uncle Jiang's house to help out first, considering how many people would be there for the evening.
Just as Jiang Nanzhou arrived in the courtyard of his second uncle's house, he saw that there were already quite a few people inside.
After exchanging greetings one by one, Jiang Nanzhou reached the entrance of the kitchen. Goodness, there was barely any standing room left inside.
When Great Aunt and the others saw Jiang Nanzhou standing at the doorway, they asked, "Is there anything for me to do? I've come to help."
Jiang Nanzhou's Great Aunt scooped a bowl of meatballs from the large basin used for holding them and thrust it right into Jiang Nanzhou's hands.
"Quit coming around here to cause trouble, boy. Hurry up and take these outside to eat."
When Jiang Nanzhou was a little boy, his Great-grandfather was still alive, and his family and Great Uncle's family celebrated the New Year together every single year. With so many people, it used to be extraordinarily lively. Back then, Second Grandpa Jiang would often lead the younger generation to block the kitchen doorway and cadge food.
Jiang Nanzhou could no longer remember which year it was that they started celebrating the New Year separately. If he ever got the chance, he really wished the entire extended family could spend the New Year together again—that must be wonderfully lively.
Jiang Nanzhou rubbed his nose and walked over with the bowl of meatballs toward Second Grandpa Jiang, who was sitting at the entrance of the main room.
"Second Grandpa, these meatballs are still hot. Dinner is still a little while away, so have some to tide you over."
When Jiang Nanzhou saw the bowl of meatballs in Jiang Baoshan's hands, his eyes lit up quite a bit. He reached out, picked one up, and handed it to Jiang Nanzhou first.
"Little Zhou, you eat too."
Jiang Nanzhou reached out, took it, and popped it straight into his mouth. Only after seeing Jiang Nanzhou eat did Jiang Baoshan begin to eat his own.
Jiang Nanzhou's grandfather had three brothers in total—a remarkably small number of children for a family in that era.
The eldest, Jiang Baoquan, was Jiang Nanzhou's Great Uncle and the village's veteran village chief. By all accounts, Jiang Baoquan had long reached the age to step down from office, but the village didn't have many people, and a suitable successor had never been found. Besides, nobody wanted such a thankless job that paid very little, and the authorities above had never paid much attention to this village either, so Jiang Baoquan had simply kept doing the job all this time.
Jiang Baoquan had four children in total. The eldest, Jiang Yu, was a girl who had married into a family in another province and only returned every few years. The second was Jiang Min, whose family had one son, Jiang Nanhai. The third was Jiang He, a primary school teacher in the city whose household had a single daughter, Jiang Tingting. The fourth was Jiang Bei, who had been in the military ever since he reached adulthood. Nobody knew which specific unit he was in; he was exactly ten years older than Jiang Nanzhou, still unmarried to this day, and the family's prime source of headaches.
When Jiang Nanzhou's Second Grandpa Jiang Baoshan was eight years old, he suffered a high fever that damaged his brain. The family was extremely poor back then and had no money to go to the hospital; by the time they managed to borrow the money, it was already too late. Ever since then, his intelligence had remained frozen at the age of eight. Although he wasn't as clever as a normal person, his heart was the purest. Yet Jiang Baoshan wasn't foolish, nor did he ever cause trouble; he always kept quietly to himself, could even prepare some simple food, and had no trouble living entirely on his own.
Although Jiang Baoshan received a government subsidy, he also frequently went out to pick up scrap materials and sell them to the scrap recycling station in town. When Jiang Nanzhou was little, he often tagged along right behind him, and whenever Jiang Baoshan made money from selling scraps, he would buy popsicles for him. Jiang Nanzhou's Great-grandmother had been an old lady with mysophobia, and Jiang Baoquan had inherited his mother's aversion to dirt; even when collecting scrap, he always dressed immaculately.
Jiang Nanzhou's Great-grandmother passed away early, so Jiang Baoshan had lived with Jiang Nanzhou's Great-grandfather ever since. When Jiang Nanzhou was in his teens, his Great-grandfather passed away as well, leaving Jiang Baoshan all alone in the household. Neither Jiang Nanzhou's grandfather nor Jiang Baoquan could bear to let him live by himself, and both wanted to take him in to live with their families, but Jiang Baoshan refused to go. He wouldn't go to anyone's house, preferring to stand guard over the home where he had grown up since childhood.
Nowadays, whenever any of their families cooked something good, they would go and call him over to eat at their house, but often they couldn't find him. When they couldn't locate him, they would simply bring over a basin of dishes and leave it in the main room, covering it securely with something so he would see it when he returned.
Jiang Nanzhou had previously bought him an old-age phone, but even though he carried it with him every day, it was useless if he never charged the battery, so finding him during the day entirely depended on fate.
Aunt Jiang and her family arrived last, bringing not only several cases of alcohol, but also peanuts, melon seeds, and beverages, packing their car to full capacity.
Four large round tables had already been set up in the main room, and the bluefin tuna that Jiang Nanzhou had caught was placed right on the foremost table.
Second Uncle Jiang was holding a knife, gesturing at the bluefin tuna, completely unsure of where to make the cut.
Jiang Nanzhou walked over.
"Second Uncle, do you even know how to slice this?"
Second Uncle Jiang had caught bluefin tuna in the past as well, but he hadn't been able to bear eating them and had sold them directly instead. He had never tasted bluefin tuna himself, and he certainly didn't want to ruin this one. That was why he had spent the entire afternoon watching videos, learning how to butcher a tuna, but practical execution was a completely different matter.
Had he learned it? Yes, he had completely unlearned it.
"How about you let me do it, Second Uncle? I've studied how to slice it before."
Hearing this, Second Uncle Jiang breathed a sigh of relief, handed the knife directly to Jiang Nanzhou, and joined the others in crowding around the table to watch.
Jiang Nanzhou took the knife and was just about to make a move.
"Brother, hold on a second. Where's your phone? I'll livestream it for you; I'm sure plenty of people would love to watch."
Hu Mingzhu enthusiastically took Jiang Nanzhou's phone and opened up the Douyin livestream.
As soon as the broadcast started, a flood of viewers poured into the livestream room.
"Fisherman Brother is starting this broadcast out of nowhere."
"Holy crap, bluefin tuna!!!"
"So extravagant!!"
"A tuna like that must cost tens of thousands."
"Anchor 666"
What kind of livestream is this, a food channel???
"Anchor, look at me! I want to eat just one bite, just one little bite."
"What kind of fish is this? Is it tuna?"
Holding the phone and seeing the comments scrolling across the screen, Hu Mingzhu selected a few to answer.
