Chapter 10

Finally, Shui Lianyue and Ye Xiangli were about to get down to business: post standing.
Placing her feet shoulder-width apart, she slightly bent her knees, curved both arms to hold them in front of her chest or abdomen, and kept her hands about ten centimeters apart with her ten fingers facing each other.
Then came adjusting her posture: keeping her head straight, tucking her chin in slightly, leveling her ears, keeping her shoulders and hips level... Then came adjusting her spirit: looking slightly below straight ahead with her eyes, and listening slightly above straight back with her ears.
Her Baihui point lifted upward gently, and then she relaxed her whole body, checking from the top of her head down and relaxing herself step by step until reaching her knees and ankles, with her feet planted firmly on the ground.
Ye Xiangli had understood nothing of this at first, but Shui Lianyue had just poured the methods and essentials of post standing directly into her mind all at once, leaving her with a sudden sense of being completely stuffed.
After quite a while, she successfully managed to thoroughly digest what Shui Lianyue had imparted to her mind.
"Well... let's keep going until sunset."
Shui Lianyue's voice remained as melodious as ever, yet falling into Ye Xiangli's ears at this moment, it tasted entirely different.
Having said that, ignoring Ye Xiangli's pitiful gaze, she walked not far away, sat cross-legged, closed her eyes, and began to cultivate.
At the same time, she did not forget to use her divine sense to monitor Ye Xiangli.
To Shui Lianyue's disappointment, Ye Xiangli really kept at it the entire time. She had wanted to catch Ye Xiangli slacking off so she could punish her, leaving Shui Lianyue feeling somewhat let down inside.
As for the Dao Rhyme, she did have a way to conceal it; she certainly didn't want to walk around every day with a Dao Rhyme hanging over her head.
Ye Xiangli didn't voice her doubts, though she was clearly somewhat disappointed by the absence of the Dao Rhyme, having lost her legitimate excuse.
Amidst the swirling mist, countless verdant mountain ranges stretched into the distance. The afterglow of the setting sun shone upon the backs of wild geese flying across the sky, reflecting a faint, dim red.
The sun was about to set.
At the same time, a single drop of sweat fell to the ground. Shui Lianyue slowly opened her eyes and looked at Ye Xiangli, who was still persisting.
Sigh, she really had quite some perseverance; she couldn't even find an opportunity to punish her.
Standing up, she walked over to Ye Xiangli. By now, Ye Xiangli was drenched in sweat, her clothes soaked through. Having lost all composure, she looked at Shui Lianyue with big, pleading eyes.
Seeing her looking like this, the corners of Shui Lianyue's lips curved upward, and her red lips parted slightly, rescuing Ye Xiangli from her misery.
"Alright, you can stop now."
Hearing this, Ye Xiangli was drained of all her strength and collapsed straight onto the ground. Before she could even rest, Shui Lianyue hoisted her right back up.
"Now go lie down on the Tianji Wood."
With that, she set Ye Xiangli back down on the ground, and her words made Ye Xiangli's eyes widen in astonishment.
"Eh?!"
"Eh, what? Hurry up, or you won't be able to get out of bed tomorrow."
She flicked Ye Xiangli on the head along the way. Looking at Ye Xiangli's pitiful expression, Shui Lianyue's mood brightened considerably.
Ye Xiangli obediently stepped forward and sprawled across the Tianji Wood. Feeling the tingling, weak current beneath her, she could only feel her whole body growing piping hot.
Especially around her abdomen, there was a warm, cozy sensation that felt exceptionally comfortable. This instantly dispelled much of the exhaustion from her post standing, drawing a comfortable sigh of contentment from her lips.
Well, it had a somewhat titillating feel to it.
Yet Ye Xiangli, immersed in this ocean of comfort, failed to notice anything else as she lay flat on the Tianji Wood that had made her feel so awkward earlier today.
Shui Lianyue's eyes narrowed slightly, resembling a lazy cat. Silently, she took out a Memory Stone and recorded Ye Xiangli lying right there on the Tianji Wood.
Seeing all this, the System chose to remain silent. Oh well, it was just a recording anyway, nothing all that serious.
Thus, completely unbeknownst to Ye Xiangli, her two appearances on the Tianji Wood had both been recorded by Shui Lianyue.
The red in the distance quickly faded away into the horizon, and night enveloped the earth.
Shui Lianyue and Ye Xiangli had already returned indoors. Right there on the table before them sat a spread of delectable food, making Ye Xiangli unconsciously swallow a mouthful of saliva.
Seeing this, Shui Lianyue rested her chin in her hand and smiled faintly. She certainly hadn't forgotten that Ye Xiangli had yet to step onto the path of cultivation.
Besides, complete fasting was only for the Foundation Establishment stage; before reaching Foundation Establishment, one still needed food.
Though there were Inedia Pills, those things tasted absolutely atrocious, so she'd rather not make Ye Xiangli eat that stuff.
