Hao Qi did not speak. He dashed straight toward the ghosts. This was something he had discussed with the commander and the political commissar beforehand; he wanted to test whether his internal energy could damage these monsters that were impervious to ordinary matter. While he confronted the monsters, it was agreed that the military would handle any others that came within a hundred meters of their defensive perimeter. Hao Qi charged directly toward the ghost closest to the front. He reached it in an instant, flickering in and out of sight. The difference in their speed was vast, and it was obvious that the ghost’s reaction time was nowhere near Hao Qi’s. The moment it manifested, Hao Qi struck it with a palm. To be safe, he unleashed his Great Vajra Palm. As his hand connected, it was as if snow had met brine or ice had been struck by a laser. The ghost let out a piercing, miserable shriek and vanished into thin air, utterly destroyed by the Great Vajra Palm. Furthermore, the entire floor of the building where it had been standing was shattered, as if a grenade had detonated inside the room, sending dust and rock debris billowing into the air. Many of the soldiers in the ranks were seeing Hao Qi fight for the first time. Their eyes widened and their mouths hung open in disbelief and astonishment. Some even whispered among themselves, asking if Hao Qi was a secret humanoid robot hidden by the government, or perhaps some kind of superpowered superhuman.
