The war continued, escalating from localized skirmishes into a full-scale world war involving all the shinobi nations. This was the Third Great Ninja War, and none of the Five Great Shinobi Villages could stay out of it. Konoha was no longer as safe as it used to be. Even when going out to buy groceries, Kushina always brought Feitao with her, never letting her stay alone for a single moment.
It was on the way home from a grocery run that Feitao first witnessed the legendary Uzumaki Jounin known as the "Red Hot-Habanero" in action. Two desperate shinobi, pushed to the absolute brink, had crossed their path. Feitao couldn't even recognize their forehead protectors, nor did she know which village they came from.
She only remembered those two men suddenly charging out from the roadside, screaming something about killing. She had no recollection of what she was feeling at the time; perhaps in that moment of crisis, her mind had gone entirely blank and her body had stiffened so much she couldn't do a thing.
