The two of them moved quickly, reaching the next town by dusk. It appeared much more prosperous than the previous villages, and owing to the Spring Festival, the entire town was bustling with activity. They found an inn, tidied up simply, and planned to take a stroll outside, largely because Feitao felt an inexplicable urge for this kind of ritualistic outing.
Today was a sunny day. Remembering the overcast skies and rain of previous years, today felt exceptionally wonderful—perhaps also because it felt like being reunited with a former companion once again.
True to form, Feitao ate as she walked, and the street seemed to stretch out endlessly before them.
