Tang Jin and Ma Runan, along with the battalion commanders and political commissars under their command, stood at attention and saluted Qin Shuli. The gift he had brought was far too precious; they truly did not know how else to express their gratitude other than with a salute. Tang Jin did not believe for a moment that they could have secured these supplies without Qin Shuli. The stronghold had been captured by the First Battalion; they had even blown up the blockhouse and hauled away the bricks, yet they had never discovered this underground warehouse. Often, it all came down to luck, and Tang Jin happened to have plenty of it, which was why he had been granted this opportunity. Of course, once the report reached the military district headquarters, no one could say how the leadership would view it.
