Unsure if he was being overly sensitive, Liulan did not act rashly after landing on the roof. He hid behind the edge of the parapet on the residential terrace, carefully observing the movement around him. The sky grew darker. Lights flickered on in the neighboring houses, and he could occasionally hear the sound of televisions and families chatting over dinner. The house where Liulan was currently located, however, was exceptionally quiet. It stood out starkly among the other residences, its abnormal atmosphere impossible to ignore. The scent of blood he had caught earlier had not dissipated. Judging by the situation, someone inside must have been severely injured. With that amount of blood loss, they would surely die without immediate medical attention, yet there was not a sound coming from within the house.
