Xu Tiancai, Linger, and the Archer left the castle carrying the mysterious Crystal Ball. They knew full well that the Black Soul Temple would not let the matter rest easily, and that the Crystal Ball in their possession would inevitably attract countless envious eyes. Throughout the journey, the three of them maintained a high degree of vigilance.
Determination and resolution showed in Xu Tiancai's eyes as he kept a constant watch on his surroundings, gripping his sword tightly. He understood in his heart that he bore a heavy responsibility—not only to protect the Crystal Ball, but also to bring peace to the Jianghu. Linger appeared even more cautious, her magic ready to be cast at a moment's notice, a trace of solemnity resting on her beautiful face. The Archer observed the surroundings calmly, his longbow ready to loose a fatal arrow at any second.
They arrived at a bustling small town, filled with a constant stream of pedestrians and an extraordinary lively atmosphere. Yet beneath this bustling facade, countless dangers lurked. Xu Tiancai acutely sensed several pairs of eyes staring at them from the shadows.
"Careful, we're being watched," Xu Tiancai said in a low voice. Linger and the Archer nodded slightly, having also sensed the anomaly. Keeping their composure, the three walked into an inn, preparing to rest briefly while observing the surrounding situation.
Inside the inn, people were talking animatedly, discussing various rumors from the Jianghu. Xu Tiancai and his companions sat in a corner, listening quietly. At that moment, a mysterious man walked in. Clad in a black robe and wearing a mask, his facial features were obscured. His gaze exuded a mysterious aura that made him impossible to fathom.
The man scanned the inn before his gaze finally landed on Xu Tiancai and the others. Xu Tiancai's heart tightened; he sensed this man was no ordinary person. The man walked slowly over to their table and sat down.
"The Crystal Ball in your hands is very dangerous," the man said in a low, hoarse voice. Xu Tiancai frowned. "Who are you? Why do you say that?" The man smiled faintly. "Who I am doesn't matter. What matters is, do you know how great the power of the Crystal Ball is?"
Linger looked at the man warily. "What do you want?" The man replied, "I can help you, but you must hand the Crystal Ball over to me." Xu Tiancai let out a cold laugh. "Impossible, we won't hand the Crystal Ball to anyone." The man shook his head. "You are too naive. The Black Soul Temple is searching everywhere for you, and other forces are also coveting the Crystal Ball. Do you really think you can protect it yourselves?"
The Archer said coldly, "We don't need your help. We will protect the Crystal Ball ourselves." The man stood up. "Fine, since you are so stubborn, don't blame me for being discourteous." With that, he turned and left the inn.
Xu Tiancai and the others knew that this man would not give up, and they had to leave this place as quickly as possible. However, when they stepped out of the inn, they discovered that the entire town had already been surrounded by a group of men in black.
"Hand over the Crystal Ball, and I will spare your lives," said the leader of the men in black. Xu Tiancai gripped his sword tightly. "We will not hand over the Crystal Ball." Linger also unleashed her magic, preparing for battle. The Archer drew his longbow, taking aim at the men in black.
The battle broke out instantly, and the two sides engaged in fierce combat. Although Xu Tiancai and his companions possessed formidable strength, the men in black were numerous, and several mysterious masters were hidden among them. During the fight, Xu Tiancai discovered that these men in black did not seem to belong to the Black Soul Temple; their combat techniques and auras were entirely different from those of the Black Soul Temple.
"Who on earth are these people?" Xu Tiancai wondered inwardly. Linger said, "No matter who they are, we cannot let them get the Crystal Ball." The Archer analyzed the situation calmly. "We must find a way to break through."
Just as they fell into a difficult predicament, a figure suddenly appeared before them. It was a Mage, holding a staff and radiating a powerful magical aura. Waving his staff, the Mage fired a powerful beam of magical light toward the men in black, instantly beating them back.
"Come with me," the Mage said. Without hesitation, Xu Tiancai and the others followed the Mage and quickly left the town. In a safe location, the Mage came to a halt.
"Why are you being hunted by these people?" the Mage asked. Xu Tiancai told him about the Crystal Ball. The Mage frowned. "The power of the Crystal Ball is too overwhelming; it will attract endless trouble. You must find a safe place as soon as possible and hide the Crystal Ball."
Linger said, "But we don't know where a safe place is." The Mage thought for a moment and said, "I know a place guarded by a powerful Magic Array, which might be able to protect the Crystal Ball." Xu Tiancai and the others decided to follow the Mage to that location.
Along the way, they encountered all sorts of dangers and challenges—ferocious beasts, complex terrain, and mysterious traps. Yet, relying on their strong willpower and multi-class skills, they turned danger into safety time and again.
Finally, they arrived at the place the Mage had mentioned. It was an ancient cave emitting a mysterious glow. The Mage led them inside, where various magical runes and patterns covered the interior.
"This is the place I spoke of; this Magic Array can protect the Crystal Ball," the Mage said. Xu Tiancai and his companions placed the Crystal Ball at the center of the Magic Array, and instantly, a powerful radiance rose up, enveloping the Crystal Ball within it.
Yet, they did not lower their guard. They knew that news of the Crystal Ball had already spread, and more people would come looking for it. They had to remain constantly prepared to face various challenges.
At that very moment, an unexpected person appeared. It was an Alchemist who had previously helped Xu Tiancai and the others. But now, a trace of greed flickered in his eyes.
"Hand over the Crystal Ball, and I can give you many precious potions and magical items," the Alchemist said. Xu Tiancai frowned. "How did you become like this? We used to be friends." The Alchemist sneered. "In the face of profit, there are no friends. The power of the Crystal Ball is too great; I cannot miss this opportunity."
Linger said angrily, "You have disappointed us too much. We will not hand the Crystal Ball over to you." The Archer drew his longbow, taking aim at the Alchemist.
The Alchemist showed no fear; he executed alchemy to summon several powerful magical beasts. These magical beasts lunged toward Xu Tiancai and his companions.
A fierce battle erupted once more. Xu Tiancai and the others had no choice but to make an enemy of a former friend. During the fight, they discovered that the Alchemist's strength had grown immensely; he seemed to have obtained some kind of mysterious power.
"What on earth did you do?" Xu Tiancai asked. The Alchemist replied, "I found an ancient alchemical formula that allowed me to gain formidable power. To obtain this formula, I paid a heavy price."
Xu Tiancai and the others knew they could not let the Alchemist succeed. They had to defeat him as quickly as possible and protect the Crystal Ball. Throughout the battle, they continuously unleashed their multi-class skills, engaging in a life-or-death struggle against the Alchemist and his magical beasts.
After a fierce clash, they finally succeeded in defeating the Alchemist. The Alchemist collapsed to the ground, his eyes filled with remorse.
"I was wrong; I shouldn't have been blinded by profit," the Alchemist said. Xu Tiancai looked at him, feeling a pang of reluctance in his heart. "Why did you have to do this?" The Alchemist sighed. "I merely wanted to become stronger to protect myself and those I care about. But I took a wrong turn."
Linger said, "I hope you won't make mistakes like this again in the future." The Alchemist nodded. "I will remember this lesson."
Leaving the Alchemist behind, Xu Tiancai and the others continued to guard the Crystal Ball. They knew that the road ahead remained long, with even more challenges and difficulties awaiting them. Yet, they firmly believed that as long as they remained united as one, they would surely overcome every hardship and bring peace to the Jianghu...
