Chapter 122

2,286 words11 minutes read

The moment Xu Tiancai and his companions stepped into the Dark World, they were struck by an unprecedented sense of oppression. The surroundings were chaotic and dark, as if invisible giant hands were squeezing their very souls. The figures looming in the shadows grew increasingly savage and terrifying as they drew closer. In the lead was a massive monster, as large as a small hill. Its body seemed to be composed of countless black rocks, each etched with eerie runes that shimmered with a ghostly green light, resembling eyes peering out from every side. The creature’s head was that of an ancient beast, its gaping maw filled with jagged fangs that emitted a pungent, foul stench, as if stained by the blood of countless living beings. Its limbs were thick and powerful; every time it stomped onto the void of the darkness, it triggered a tremor in space, sending black ripples spreading through the shadows. Behind the monster, the twisted humanoid figures became clearer. Their bodies appeared stretched, limbs contorted at impossible angles. Their skin was a sickly, deathly pale, covered in black veins through which a liquid as thick as ink pulsed. Their eyes were sunken deep into their sockets, with only two pinpricks of red light flickering within, revealing an infinite, venomous madness.
