Xu Tiancai and the others left the laboratory and headed toward the castle's basement. The basement passage was dark and damp, with water droplets continuously seeping from the walls. The dripping sound echoed in the silence, like a countdown from the depths of darkness. They walked cautiously, feeling the surrounding air grow heavier with every step, as if countless pairs of prying eyes were hidden in the shadows. As they penetrated deeper, strange marks appeared on the walls. These looked like the claw marks of some gigantic creature, gouged deep into the stone. Residual black slime around the scratches emitted a pungent odor—the stench of the Dark Power's corrosion. A'gang gently touched the slime with his Battle Axe; the runes on the axe flickered briefly, as though warning of danger. Finally, they reached the core area of the basement. A thick layer of dark mist hung in the air here, punctuated by occasional flashes of purple lightning that peered out like a demon's eyes. In the center of the mist was a massive whirlpool, slowly spinning and radiating intense interdimensional space fluctuations. This was the anomalous region of the Interdimensional Passage indicated by the detection program.
