Chapter 252

On the afternoon of October 30th, after the bell rang, the students hurried back to their respective dormitories. Fred, George, and Lee Jordan looked excited, urging Alistair to walk faster because they could hardly wait to see the people from the other two schools. Alistair returned to his dormitory, put down his books, put on his cloak, and followed the crowd toward the entrance hall. The Heads of House were ordering the students of their respective houses to line up. Alistair looked at Snape, who was standing at the front of the Slytherin student queue. His hair was clean and fell smoothly against his shoulders, and his black collar was very neat, as if he had carefully groomed himself as well. Professor McGonagall began checking the students' attire and deportment, starting with the first-years; every couple of students, someone was reminded of something by her.
