After visiting the amusement park that day, Fred and George developed a strong fascination with the Muggle world. Because of this, Alistair had to accompany them in rising early to brew potions—selling Age Potion to make some money—and spending the rest of their time exploring various places in the Muggle world.
Near the end of the summer holidays, Alistair wrote a letter to Harry, sending his regards and asking if he had been anywhere fun during the summer. But Harry's reply took Alistair completely by surprise, because Harry had sent him a watch.
The letter read:
"Thank you for looking out for me this past year, senior. I figured I ought to give you something in return, but my uncle kept me on such a tight leash this past year that I could only slip out during mealtimes, so I haven't been able to earn any pocket money..."
