After returning to his dormitory, Alistair packed Professor Snape's birthday gift into his magical pouch and hurried down to the kitchen to ask the house-elf for the ingredients to make a cake.
"Dobby is very happy to help sir with these!" Dobby noticed him entering the kitchen and gladly handed him the requested ingredients.
"Thank you." Alistair accepted the materials and said, "Dobby, how has your winter break been? The fireworks you helped the Weasley twins set off at the end of last term were a huge help to me. Thank you so much."
