Across the boundless, sprawling Gobi Desert lay an endless stretch of yellow sand interspersed with exposed patches of elliptical pebbles. Many giant stones, not yet fully weathered, had been hollowed out by the wind and sand that howled day and night into all manner of bizarre shapes. Whenever the wind season arrived, the entire Fenmo Ridge would emit a mournful, lingering wail like the hellish cries of the abyss.
Surrounded by countless oddly shaped boulders lay Fenmo Mountain, towering ten thousand feet high and perilously steep. Not a single blade of grass grew upon it, and its exposed rock face was half ashen white and half pitch black. At the junction of the black and white, the three large characters "Fenmo Mountain" were deeply carved in a bold, sweeping script with no signature attached; no one knew who had inscribed them or when. Much like the mountain itself, it had appeared overnight in the Gobi Desert, and since that day, the immortal and demonic realms had taken the mountain as their boundary, each holding its own camp.
Today, Fenmo Mountain was exceptionally lively. On one side stood the Demon Race led by Liangchen, and on the other, the righteous sects led by Fan Guangchuan.
