The night was cool as water. Fairy Yuluo had originally intended to sit in meditation and cultivate, but that hair-pin kept drifting closer and farther away, lingering in her mind and refusing to fade. Even after she chanted the Heart-Clearing Mantra a few times, it had virtually no effect. Fairy Yuluo simply got up and left her tent. The bonfire in the distance was almost extinguished, leaving only a few thick tree roots. As the wind blew past, faint sparks flashed in the dimness. Fairy Yuluo sat down on a nearby stone, picked up a withered branch from the ground, and poked at the fire. The scattered sparks soared upward, then cascaded gracefully in arcs before falling back to the ground.
