Chapter 7

Inside the room, Jiang Wan'er was left speechless as she watched Liu Bufan fall fast asleep the moment his head hit the pillow.
Is he a pig? Even a pig wouldn't fall asleep this fast.
Still, she took a shower, put on her pajamas, wrapped her arms around Liu Bufan's arm, and fell asleep peacefully.
In the darkness, a gentle curtain of light slowly rose from Liu Bufan's body, enveloping Jiang Wan'er as well before flashing and disappearing into the void.
Early the next morning, Liu Bufan woke up in astonishment.
Did I actually just fall asleep yesterday?
How many years has it been since I last slept?
This isn't quite right.
Checking the current condition of his Saint Body, Liu Bufan was surprised to find that his Saint Body was actually showing signs of a breakthrough!
The Divine Body is a supreme, invincible physique that exists only in legends.
According to legend, when a Saint Body is cultivated to its absolute limit, it can transform into a Divine Body under the right fortuitous circumstances.
However, that was only a legend; in reality, no one had ever heard of anyone successfully achieving it.
Liu Bufan was somewhat excited. Could it be that the extreme environment of the Void had caused his Saint Body to evolve?
Moreover, at this rate, the Divine Body would automatically form before long—this really was completely unexpected.
With greater strength, he would be able to better protect the people around him.
Furthermore, a subtle intuition in the dark told Liu Bufan that his spiritual sense clone would arrive very soon. Once the clone arrived, if Liu Bufan so desired, not a single corner of this universe—save for the secret realm in different dimensions—could escape his surveillance.
Finding his family would be as simple as a single thought.
He looked at his wife, who was still holding him tightly and sleeping soundly.
Liu Bufan affectionately stroked her little face with doting eyes."Mm-hm~ Let me sleep a little longer~ I dreamed that my husband came back, hehe."
Liu Bufan smiled faintly and wrapped his arms around the little bunny as well.
The beauty slowly opened her eyes and touched Liu Bufan's face:
"It's wonderful that this isn't a dream."
With that, she burrowed deeper into Liu Bufan's arms and went back to sleep.
The two of them did not emerge from the room until noon.
The company was managed jointly by Jiang Wan'er's father and Jiang Wan'er. Although Jiang Wan'er took the lead, it was no big deal if they skipped a day.
Entering the living room, they saw Aunt Li, the housekeeper, greeting them.
"Miss, Young Master, lunch is ready. Come and eat."
Liu Bufan held Wan'er's hand as they walked toward the dining table.
Liu Bufan had returned to his original appearance, and Jiang Shanyue had already told Aunt Li that Liu Bufan could speak now, so Aunt Li was not surprised at all.
Just as Liu Bufan was about to eat, Jiang Wan'er suddenly asked:
"Husband, I heard that once your cultivation reaches a certain level, you don't need to eat anymore, right? What's it called—inanition?"
"Oh? How do you know about that?""That's what that brat Jiang Cheng read about in his novels."
Liu Bufan was speechless. Why did his brother-in-law love reading novels so much?
Still, he explained:
"The cultivation tiers are basically divided into the Qi Condensation stage, Foundation Establishment stage, Golden Core Stage, Nascent Soul Stage, Divine Transformation Stage, Integration, Tribulation Stage, Great Vehicle stage, and so on. After that comes ascension, and there are many more realms beyond.
"However, cultivators reach a point where they no longer need to eat once they hit the Foundation Establishment stage. They can rely entirely on the spiritual energy between heaven and earth to sustain themselves."
Jiang Wan'er pondered thoughtfully: "Does that mean you don't need to eat anymore either, Hubby?"
"That's right. I have a Saint Body now, so theoretically I don't need to eat, but I'm just a glutton."
Hearing this, Wan'er smiled and took a crunchy bite of her twisted dough roll. "True. Who can resist the temptation of delicious food?"
"Wife, let me tell you a story from another world about penance fasting.
"It is said that a long time ago, in a sect called the Qionggui Sect, the sect master's wife ran off with someone else. Not only that, she emptied out the entire sect treasury!"
Jiang Wan'er was stunned. She had thought homewreckers only existed in the mortal realm, but it seemed they were everywhere.
Liu Bufan took a bite of a steamed bun and continued: "In cultivation, they emphasize the four essentials: wealth, companion, method, and land—and wealth comes in at number one. Without money, the sect couldn't afford cultivation resources anymore. But that wasn't the biggest issue; the real problem was that they couldn't afford food.
"After a batch of disciples left out of hunger, the Qionggui Sect master happened to notice that cultivators at the Foundation Establishment stage and above were completely fine without food! This was a breakthrough discovery. Using this method to save a fortune on meals, he redirected the funds toward expanding the sect, and instead grew it into a thriving powerhouse. In the end, he tracked down the man who cuckolded him and took his revenge.
"Oh right, that sect master was seemingly called the Crafty True Lord, and he was already at the Integration stage back then."
After hearing this, Jiang Wan'er felt the story was utterly ridiculous! The sheer absurdity of saving enough money on uneaten food to build up a sect—just how much did those people eat?!
Aunt Li was quite pleased listening to the two of them chat. Even though their conversation was a bit nonsensical and sounded a bit like the young master, their relationship seemed to have improved significantly.
"Hubby, you said cultivation relies on wealth, companion, method, and land, with wealth being the most important. If the two of us want to cultivate now, will we need a lot of money? I still have some savings, though I'm not sure if it's enough."
Hearing this, Liu Bufan flashed a mischievous grin:"Wife, how could I use your money? There are plenty of ways to make a fortune."
At this moment, Jiang Wan'er looked like a curious child.
"Is it like in novels, where you brew some medicine and sell it to people?"
Hearing this, Liu Bufan thought of Young Master Li of Julong Group, who had been summoned out the previous day. Liu Bufan raised an eyebrow.
"They say the profit of selling medicine rivals robbery, so why not just rob people directly?"
Hearing Liu Bufan say this, Jiang Wan'er was stunned for a moment before remembering something. With a rare, fiercely feigned tone, she said:
"Husband, those people last night said that car accident you had was done by Young Master Li of Julong Group, right?"
Seeing Jiang Wan'er trying to look fierce while still acting cute, Liu Bufan chuckled.
"Wife, it was just a bug. Here, eat a chicken's tail and calm down."
"Oh..."
Jiang Wan'er instinctively used her bowl to catch the food Liu Bufan handed her. Then she slapped her chopsticks down on the table.
"Liu Bufan!"
"Be a good girl ~ call me husband."
"Husband, you're driving me crazy."
Interrupted by Liu Bufan midway, her words came out soft and completely lacking in momentum.
Liu Bufan looked at Wan'er with a smug, wicked grin, thinking to himself that bickering and joking around with his wife was actually a lot of fun.
Seeing Liu Bufan's wicked grin, Jiang Wan'er couldn't help but laugh in exasperation. Since her husband had returned, he was never gloomy anymore. Even though he always teased her, it was quite interesting—it felt just like the days when they had first met.
"Husband, do you have any plans or arrangements for today?"
"I originally planned to go straight to the civil affairs bureau to remarry you, but I thought that would be too perfunctory. I plan to properly make it up to you after I find my family. Wife, is there anywhere you want to go or anything you want to play? Before my divine sense avatar merges back, let's relax a bit."
Jiang Wan'er thought about it carefully, then said rather sheepishly:
"Could we... could we go ride a roller coaster? I've always wanted to, but I'm a bit scared."
"Huh? It's not that scary, is it?"
"Well, when I was little, Mom and Dad took me, little Jiang Cheng, and Yue'er to the amusement park. I wanted to ride the roller coaster, but I was scared. Jiang Cheng volunteered to go first to show me how it's done. Then the equipment malfunctioned, and Jiang Cheng was thrown out, hitting his head. He was in a hospital in a coma for over a week! Ever since then, I've been even more scared, but the more scared I am, the more I want to try it. You... you won't laugh at me, will you? Being this old and still like this."
At this point, Jiang Wan'er was practically curling her toes in embarrassment.
Liu Bufan understood now. No wonder his brother-in-law was such a loose cannon—turns out it wasn't genetic after all. He immediately took Jiang Wan'er's little hand and said with a serious expression:
"How could I laugh at you? Today—no, as soon as we finish eating, we're heading to the amusement park."
"But I'm pregnant, you know. That might not be very suitable," Jiang Wan'er said, looking troubled.
"Wife, don't forget, the two little ones in your belly are my kids! Forget a roller coaster, you could ride a rocket and it would be totally fine!"
"You're the one riding a rocket! Why would I ride that for no reason?" She gave Liu Bufan's chest a light punch with her small fist.
"Wife, when are you planning to tell Mom and Dad the news that you're pregnant?"
"Huh, didn't we not tell them yesterday?"
Liu Bufan slapped his forehead. "You really do get dumber for three years after pregnancy. The old saying is spot on."
"Liu Bufan! You're asking to be bitten again, aren't you?!"
"Hey, hey, hey, Wife, the food in your mouth isn't swallowed yet..."

After the meal, the two of them went into the garage, and then came right back out. For no other reason than the fact that both cars at home had been driven away.
Thinking of the little electric scooter in the corner of the garage, Jiang Wan'er said, "Husband, why don't you ride the electric scooter and give me a ride?"
Liu Bufan shook his head, indicating he had never ridden one and didn't know how.
Jiang Wan'er thought about it and figured it made sense—given Liu Bufan's past status, it was completely normal that he had never ridden an electric scooter.
Without giving it much thought, Liu Bufan sat on the back seat. Their little electric scooter accelerated and hit the road at a blistering top speed of twenty kilometers per hour...
Sitting in the back, Liu Bufan wrapped his arms around Jiang Wan'er's waist, feeling the soft belly of his lovely wife, and a slow smile crept up the corner of his mouth.
Ha! Having lived for over eight thousand years, he was still crystal clear on when he should or shouldn't know how to do certain things.
The amusement park wasn't far—about a half-hour ride. The little electric scooter came to an abrupt stop.
Jiang Wan'er was left speechless for a moment. "Husband, can you take your hands off my belly now..."
Liu Bufan looked thoroughly displeased. "We're here already?"
Right at that moment, his phone chimed with a series of notifications. He pulled it out to take a look:
"Brother-in-law! This is a disaster! Where are you?! I saw my sister bring some damn pretty boy to the amusement park, and last night those two were all over each other in the car! Is there any justice left?! This jerk is actually better-looking than me!"
