Heart pounding, Awen jumped to his feet and looked toward the doorway, only to find no one there—it was just the wind that had blown the door open. Yet this brief moment had already startled him so badly that he could barely steady himself. He simply couldn't stay there any longer. Taking advantage of the fine night and the moonlight that looked like water, he bolted outside. How should he put it regarding this home? He certainly had some attachment to it, but not all that much, because this house was merely a place for him to eat, rest, and sleep. Aside from the basic necessities of life, he really had nothing to say about this home.
